The top-performing 10-year-old vehicles were then cross-referenced against their average current market value, as well as how many miles these vehicles typically have left in their average potential lifespans.
By analyzing the average potential lifespan, average market value, and amount of miles left to that average potential lifespan, iSeeCars was able to find out which vehicles for sale on the used marketplace today have the best value for the money. Of course, the list of the top 20 cars with the best value for the money was flooded with Honda and Toyota models, but the top-performing vehicle came from Chevrolet. Chevrolet takes top honors with its full-size sedan
Yes, the discontinued Chevrolet Impala beat out every other vehicle on this list as the best used vehicle you can buy for the money. The Impala beat out fan favorites such as the Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Prius, and even the Toyota Camry. The Impala took top honors due to its solid average lifespan and affordable price. A 10-year-old Impala has an average price of only $9,706 and an average potential lifespan of 230,343 miles, according to iSeeCars. Oddly enough, this average potential lifespan is longer than the Honda Civic, Honda Fit, and Honda Accord.
iSeeCars also reports that the Chevy Impala models you’ll find on the used market today typically have around 111,996 miles to go before they reach their average potential lifespan of 230,343. This means that if you buy an Impala for the $9,706 average price, you are only paying around $87 for every 1,000 miles left until you hit that average potential lifespan mileage.

If you aren’t set on buying a used Chevrolet Impala, there are many other vehicles for great value. While there are a ton of vehicles on this list to choose from, there isn’t another vehicle on this list that provides the same amount of value as the Chevrolet Impala. The Prius may offer a longer potential lifespan, but you are paying a premium for the Prius name. With vehicles like the Ridgeline, you are getting a good amount of value when it comes to potential mileage, but with a sky-high price, it is hardly a value.
