Despite rising inflation costs and high interest rates, most full-size trucks are doing great. The Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, and Toyota Tundra are bragging about increasing sales. However, one full-size truck is suffering on its own with declining sales.

The 2024 Ram 1500 is the only full-size truck with massive declining sales

Please note that the Nissan Titan has declining sales in 2024, but that’s because it was discontinued. I’m giving this full truck a break as it goes out to pasture.

However, the 2024 Ram 500 has declining sales and there’s no excuse for its failure as rivals flourish and compete.

Unfortunately, Ram 1500 sales were 24% in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the third quarter of 2023. It has only moved 268,665 trucks this year which represents a 19% decrease compared to the same time period last year.

Meanwhile, the Ford F-150 is happy with staying consistent and achieving a slight sales increase. It’s up 6.0% in the third quarter of 2024 compared to 2023. It also currently has a 4.2% sales increase year over year.

The Chevy Silverado and its fancy pickup truck twin, the GMC Sierra are both doing well. The Silverado increased its sales by 7.7% during the second quarter of the year. However, the Sierra has a bigger increase of 17.6% to celebrate.

Also, the Toyota Tundra is up. It has an 18.6% sales increase in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the third quarter of 2024.

So, what’s up with the Ram 1500? It’s possible that drivers are simply waiting for the 2025 model to arrive with the new Hurricane engine

However, buyers have a few concerns about the 2024 model. Some claim it’s aging compared to rivals, so the 2025 refresh is just in time.

Others say that it’s too expensive and doesn’t offer as many custom choices as the Ford F-150. Plus, the affordable Ram 1500 Classic was discontinued, taking an essential option away.

It’s also had quite a few massive recalls, but it’s not alone. The F-150 is prone to annoying recalls as well.
