Yes, the 2024 Mazda CX-50 is excellent in the snow. First of all, AWD is standard across the entire lineup. So, you already get the equipment necessary for keeping you stable in ice and snow. 

Plus, the i-Activ AWD system automatically adjusts the throttle response, torque, and braking response to provide an optimal performance in any conditions. 

G-Vectoring Control Plus responds to your steering inputs with subtle engine torque and braking adjustments to enhance stability for a smoother ride quality. 

The Off-Road driving mode conditions the brakes and engine torque to maximize traction and prevent slipping. It has an 8.6-inch ground clearance, allowing you to traverse through deep snow and mud.

Also, the CX-50 has available raised roof rails and can tow up to 3,500 lbs. This means you can bring more winter gear on adventures. 

You can access up to 31.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row of the CX-50, with up to 56.3 cubes total. The all-weather rubber mats and water-resistant upholstery hold up against muddy gear. 

Best of all, the Mazda CX-50 is cozy. It has standard remote start, so you can heat your SUV when it’s cold out. 

Moving up in trim level provides access to dual-zone climate control, heated exterior mirrors, heated seats, a heated steering wheel, a windshield de-icer, a universal garage opener, a 360-degree camera display, and all-terrain tires. 

When the roads are clear, you can open things up. The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 187 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque is a nice start. 

But upgrading to the turbocharged 3.5-liter four-cylinder engine with up to 256 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, really gets our motors running. The CX-50 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in roughly 7.0 seconds. 

The Mazda CX-50 is great for all seasons, but in the winter it’s controlled, capable, engaging, and toasty. It’s great for colder climates.
