You don’t have to spend a ton to save some fuel. One hybrid Ford SUV has a lower price than you think and is extremely reliable. See why it’s time to stop ignoring the 2024 Ford Escape Hybrid. 

The most affordable Hybrid Ford SUV is the Escape 

If you want a hybrid Ford SUV, your options are pretty limited as the Ford Explorer Hybrid is no longer available to the general public. 

However, the 2024 Ford Escape Hybrid is still here for you. The entry-level model is only available for fleets, but you can get started with an Escape Hybrid with more bells and whistles for $36,385, including the $1,495 destination fee. 

The Escape Hybrid has a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with an electric motor to generate 210 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque. 

It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 8.5 seconds, which is average for the class. That’s not a super exciting amount of power, but it’s enough for merging into traffic and passing others with ease.

Also, the Escape Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 44 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. It can travel about 588 miles between fill-ups.

The 2024 Escape Hybrid also stands out for being a spacious option. Adults have plenty of space in the front and rear.

There are 37.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats with up to 65.4 cubes overall. The rear seats fold flat to create a level cargo floor. 

But while the Escape Hybrid does offer all-wheel drive, it’s built for towing. It can only pull about 1,500 lbs. That’s a fair trade-off for the well-rounded SUV, though.
