The Cadillac CT4 is a compelling compact luxury sedan. It’s appealing for many reasons. Its several available powertrains are excellent, the interior is classy and well-equipped, and it’s available with the hands-free Super Cruise system. It’s also one of the more affordable options in its class, making it an attainable luxury car.

However, one of the best reasons to buy a Cadillac CT4 isn’t about the car itself.

The Cadillac CT4 has a great dealership experience

The Cadillac CT4 gets a favorable rating in the Dealership Experience categories of J.D. Power’s ratings. The CT4 receives an overall score of 83 out of 100, making it the top-rated vehicle in the Compact Premium Car class. Part of what gives it that great score is an 85 out of 100 in the Dealership Experience.

So, what is that rating based on? “Owners’ experience with this brand’s dealerships during the purchase and service process make up this rating,” J.D. Power says. “Key factors include customer service, dealership facilities, and the quality of work.”

Granted, the CT4 has one rival with a higher dealership experience rating. The Lexus IS scores 90 out of 100, also considered “Great.” The Lexus brand has always famously delivered a top-notch dealership experience. The fact that Cadillac comes close to the Lexus dealer experience is a testament to the American luxury brand taking that factor of the buying process seriously. The BMW models in this class get an 83 out of 100, which is also “Great.”

Mercedes-Benz and Audi both get “Average” ratings for their dealership experiences. The Genesis G70 only earns a “Fair” rating, likely because Genesis models sometimes share a dealership building with Hyundai.

What else is good about the Cadillac CT4?

According to J.D. Power, the CT4 scores 86 out of 100 in the “Quality & Reliability” category and 81 out of 100 in “Resale.” Those are both high enough to be called “Great.” The only class where it gets an “Average” score is “Driving Experience,” where it gets a 77.

The driving experience is merely average because it’s being compared to some outstanding competitors. German rivals from brands like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi have long had a reputation for being more engaging to drive than their closest Cadillac counterparts. The CT4 is fairly sporty, and the V-Series models are a blast to drive, but it’s still no German sport sedan.

One of our favorite things about the Cadillac CT4 is that you can get it with the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system. When you option this sedan with Super Cruise, you can drive with your hands off the steering wheel on more than 400,000 miles of highways in North America. This is still a rare option in this class.

What about other Cadillac models?

As you might expect, every Cadillac model gets the same Dealership Experience score from J.D. Power. These include the CT5 midsize sedan, all three SUVs in the XT family, and the iconic Escalade. So, no matter which Cadillac model you have your eye on, you’re bound to have a “Great” experience at the dealership.
