Whether you prefer to fly, drive, or ride the rails to find your bliss, there is no shortage of ways to explore our little blue corner of the universe. However, if you’d rather unplug and unwind on a train trip than aboard an aircraft or in a car, you have rail-bound travel options. For instance, I can recommend kicking back aboard the Eurostar from London to Amsterdam.

A Eurostar train trip from London to Amsterdam can be a dream adventure without taking too much of your time or money

When most American travelers think Eurostar, they likely conjure images of a Paris-bound train careening across the countryside. However, the famous train line travels between the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Better yet, you can fly into London and hop on a Eurostar for a scenic ride to Amsterdam.

Tickets start at as low as $52, making it a more affordable option than hopping a budget-minded flight like easyJet. However, you may want to consider opting for a ticket upgrade. For starters, purchasing an upgraded ticket will grant you access to the lounge, which may offer complimentary bites, newspapers, and drinks. Moreover, the upgraded cabin will typically afford you more space for your luggage, should you be packing heavy.

Next, the seats are more comfortable and attendants will bring you tasty eats and libations should you want them. While that’s not a must, it’s just the sweetest little addition to your picturesque cruise across Europe.

Better yet, the ride isn’t a painfully lengthy one. Bow to stern, your train trip is up in a matter of hours. After all, the Eurostar can travel at nearly 200 mph. And you’ll be in the stunning city of Amsterdam thereafter.

Moreover, if you visit at the right time of year, you may get to see the world-famous tulip blooms just outside the city. Every year, detail-oriented horticulturists cultivate fields of tulips and other eye-popping floral arrangements in the millions.

However, even if you miss the tulip window, the city has plenty to offer. From an incredible nightlife scene to delicious culinary options and thought-provoking museums, Amsterdam is worth the train trip and then some.
