Hennessey has a way of increasing horsepower and handling on vehicles. The company has been doing that for many years. But, did you know that the American manufacturer also produces its own vehicle? The Hennessey Venom F5 hypercar debuted today, and anybody can order it.

The unveiling was full of sweet emotion

In a streaming event earlier today, the global unveiling of the production Hennessey Venom F5 revealed a sportscar that many have been waiting for. MotorBiscuit has covered the development of the concept before. But, now it is real. And, the realized version is still awe-inspiring.

In the debut video of the production model, posted below, the music chosen for the background is Sweet Emotion, by Aerosmith. No other song could have been more appropriate for this introduction. Sweet emotion indeed! As the camera pans around and into the vehicle, its curves, the carbon fiber, and even the brakes and wheels grab one’s attention and evoke a sense of astonishment.

Sadly, there were no details released with the video. So, I’ve been scouring the manufacturer’s website and the internet to get as much information as possible for you on the hypercar. And, the more I find, the more impressive this machine appears to be.

Hypercar details and performance numbers

The curves and body lines of the Hennessey hypercar are breathtaking. But, also as stunning are the numbers. Horsepower is rated at 1,817. That is coming from a mid-mounted, twin-turbo, 6.6-liter V8. Such a build aims not just to impress, but also to tackle a top-speed expectation of over 300 mph (to be tested with NASA in 2021). When unleashed, the rear-drive car will sprint to 62 mph in 2.6 seconds, or 186 mph is just 8.4 seconds.

Bewildering is probably the more accurate term with respect to understanding all of those numbers. A mere five years ago, 1,000 hp was considered unreal. Now, The Venom F5 is at 1,817 hp!

The hypercar’s body

The body of the Hennessey Venom P5 is carbon fiber. Some of the carbon fiber is exposed, while some of it is painted. That body is set over a carbon fiber monocoque chassis to keep weight at a minimum. That’s understandable considering the speeds this car is built to tackle. There are butterfly soft-close doors, of course, because hypercar. Additionally, center-mounted quad exhaust tips exit in the rear, above the bumper.

A total of 24 units will be built for the world. But, buyers interested in getting the full performance out of the hypercar will first need to complete a training course with Hennessey. They will also have to pony up with their wallets. Pricing starts at $2.1 million. Excuse me while I stare.
