The new Kia Telluride has an MSRP of $35,990, but its starting price is closer to $37,355. The LX with all-wheel drive starts at $39,355, and the 2024 Kia Telluride S has an MSRP of $37,890. However, it costs $39,255 after the destination charge. The Telluride S costs $41,255 with all-wheel drive and the destination charge.

The Telluride LX and Telluride S are the only two trims that have starting prices under $40,000 (after fees). In a few model years, the base model LX with front-wheel drive will be the only Telluride model with a starting price under $40K. This is alarming to many consumers because the midsize SUV’s affordability is such a huge part of its appeal.

The 2021 Kia Telluride had an MSRP of $32,190, while the 2022 model year started at $33,390. Its greatest price jump in recent years was the 2023 Kia Telluride, which starts at $35,890. Tack on an increasing destination charge, and suddenly the industry’s most popular three-row SUV isn’t so affordable.

Kia’s midsize SUV isn’t as expensive as some of its rivals. That said, it’s hard to ignore its dramatic price increase over the past few years. If the Telluride gets too expensive, it could lose many supporters. After all, value plays such a key role in why the midsize SUV became so popular in the first place.

What comes standard on the 2024 Kia Telluride?

The 2024 Kia Telluride comes standard with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, SynTex seat trim, and one-touch sliding and folding second-row seats. It also includes smart cruise control with stop-and-go, rear parking sensors, and blind-spot detection technology. The new Telluride features safe exit assist, driver attention warning, and highway driving assist.

According to Kia, the Telluride uses a 3.8-liter V6 engine to make 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. It gets 20 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway.

Kia’s midsize SUV has a long list of standard features. It has plenty of creature comforts that improve its overall ownership experience and great driver assistance/safety features.

The greatest change to the Kia Telluride nameplate is the return of amber daytime running lights. Amber-color DRLs are now standard across the Telluride’s 10 configurations. The 2024 Kia Telluride’s updates are all minor, hence the small price difference between the 2023 and new model years after destination fees.

Kia’s three-row midsize SUV hasn’t changed much, and that’s music to the ears of thousands of drivers. It’s one of the best SUVs on the market. The newest model year doesn’t disappoint based on its available specs and features.
