Like any other automaker, Hyundai is constantly looking to improve itself, and one way that the South Korean automaker is doing that is by releasing new models into its lineup. For the 2024 model year, Hyundai has two all-new models in its lineup, but car shoppers shouldn’t be a stranger to them. Here’s a look at the two all-new models in Hyundai’s lineup and how they’re different from their prior model years.

A brief overview of the changes that Hyundai made to its lineup for 2024

Hyundai wrote about what the company has changed for the 2024 model year, and for the most part, there were a lot of small changes to most cars. The Tucson, for example, was largely carried over from last year, but it got a few upgrades to its standard features. There’s now a seatbelt reminder system for all occupants as standard. 

Many models had small changes to its top trims, and that’s what happened with the Palisade. The midsize SUV had few changes overall, and one of those small changes was that the ambient lighting feature was now available on the Limited trim. Small changes like that are to be expected on carry-over models. The Ioniq 6 in particular has no changes whatsoever. 

The South Korean auto giant is being secretive about the changes on a few models. The Sonata and Elantra were refreshed, but the company didn’t announce the details yet. It plans to reveal more details about those refreshed cars later this year. Since they received a refresh, car shoppers should expect a different look, but nothing fundamentally different under the hood.

These two Hyundai models are all-new in the sense that they were fully redesigned

As far as all-new Hyundai models, the company isn’t planning on releasing any new nameplates in the 2024 model year. However, two models, the Kona and the Santa Fe, were completely redesigned.

Since they were redesigned, they are, effectively, all-new models since redesigns can change a lot about a car. Unsurprisingly, the automaker made a long list of the Kona’s changes for the 2024 model year due to its redesign.

One of the more obvious changes is to the Kona’s looks. Like the automaker described, the new Kona has “dynamic styling” and “bold proportions.” This does have some practical benefits though, as the larger Kona has more interior space than before.

The new Kona also has a better interior. The last model year came with an 8-inch touchscreen, but the new one gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen as standard. The Kona Electric also gets a new 48-kWh battery option.

What’s changed about these all-new Hyundai models

The Santa Fe, meanwhile, is one of the most popular options in the Hyundai lineup, so its redesign has a lot more hype than the Kona’s does. Like the Sonata and the Elantra, Hyundai has yet to reveal too much info about the all-new Santa Fe. With that being said, the automaker revealed to the world the SUV’s new design, and it’s safe to say that it has a bold, new look.

In many ways, the all-new Santa Fe looks like a Land Rover more than it looks like anything else. This brand-new look may help the Santa Fe stand out from other SUV models, as many car shoppers care about how good their car looks.

Of course, Hyundai has also improved the car’s features. Not much is known about the changes, but the new Santa Fe does have a massive, curved panoramic display that’s become standard on other brand-new Hyundais.
