The 2022 Toyota Tundra Hybrid Max is the first hybrid Toyota Tundra ever produced. The hybrid pickup truck goes against everything we thought we knew about the full-size pickup truck.

The Toyota Tundra was known for its powerful V8 engine. Toyota has ceased V8 development, but that doesn’t mean that the new Tundra is any less powerful. In fact, the Hybrid Max is actually more powerful than the previous V8 engine used in the 2021 Toyota Tundra.

The 2022 Toyota Tundra Hybrid Max uses an i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain that consists of a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine and a motor generator system. According to Car and Driver, the hybrid powertrain makes a massive 437 horsepower. The 2021 Toyota Tundra only makes 381 horsepower using its 5.7-liter V8 engine.

The 2022 Toyota Tundra Hybrid Max is proof that hybrid trucks don’t have to be weak. The new Tundra is one of the first hybrid pickup truck models available, and it will undoubtedly inspire similar models from other automakers.

The 2022 Ford Maverick hybrid pickup truck has created a new truck subclass

The 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid is so unique that it almost occupies a subclass by itself. Other than the Hyundai Santa Cruz, there is no truck currently on the market quite like the Blue Oval’s tiny new hybrid pickup truck. The Maverick Hybrid is the opposite of the Tundra Hybrid Max. Instead of focusing on power, it provides amazing fuel efficiency as well as surprising utility for its size.

The Maverick Hybrid gets a whopping 42 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway. This tiny truck is more fuel-efficient than most trucks on the market. Its fuel economy isn’t the only thing that makes it unique either.

The Maverick Hybrid’s size and innovative truck bed, the Flexbed are also innovative. The Maverick is the second-smallest truck on the market. The Ford Ranger is almost a foot longer. Its truck bed is fully customizable to suit the wants and needs of Maverick owners. The tiny pickup truck foregoes size and power for utility and convenience, creating a truck that is perfect for city driving.
