Bigger is always better, right? Well, maybe not if you’re in the market for two Jeep models in the lineup. Aside from taking up a lot of space, the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator could have too much interior room, making them terrible for short drivers.

Two Jeep models are terrible for short drivers

The two Jeep models that are terrible for short drivers are the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator. According to Torque News, these cars made it on the list of the top 10 worst vehicles for shorter folks.

The Jeep Wrangler landed in second place on the list and the Jeep Gladiator came in second. The worst car for short drivers is the Mazda MX-5 Miata, which doesn’t make sense. You have to be short to even fit in the Miata.

Reportedly, the testers for these vehicles were between  5’1” and 6’2”. But I’m also 5’1” and disagree with this list. I fit it eh Miata like a glove. I’ve also been off-roading with the Wrangler and Gladiator without struggling to reach anything.

However, the vehicles were tested based on how easy it was to enter and exit the vehicle. I do climb the sides of taller trucks like a tree for access, but I’m used to it. I’ve been climbing into giant trucks and SUVs for three decades now.

The vehicles were also judged based on comfort, driving position, and field of view. The Wrangler and Gladiator models I drove had plenty of adjustment controls to find the right driving position.

My feet easily reached the pedals, you can adjust the steering wheel, and I had a perfect field of view. However, the Wrangler and Gladiator may benefit from adjustable foot pedals. Adjusting the pedals in the Ford F-150 made it seem more comfortable to little ‘ole me.

Plus, you do have to pop a squat to get in the Miata, and climbing out of it can be a struggle. But the paddles are easy to reach and the front windshield provides excellent visibility.

While I disagree that the Gladiator and Wrangler are the two Jeep models that are the worst for shorter drivers, I understand the hassle of high step-in heights.
