Uh oh, too slow. If you waiting too long to get your Ford Maverick Hybrid, then you may have missed your chance until next summer. The 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid orders books are officially sealed. Ford is struggling to fill back orders and will resume taking orders for the 2023 model in the summer.

Bad news for you and great news for Ford. The 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid is insanely popular, with more orders than expected. As a result, Ford is maxed out on the number of Maverick models it can build.

Now no one can deny what customers want, an affordable truck. The $20,000 Hybrid model is the most popular option with maxed-out orders. Ford will resume accepting customer orders for the 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid in the summer.

Ford spokesman, Mike Levine, shared that there has been an overwhelming demand for the Hybrid and EcoBoost Maverick models. He explained that the decision to stop taking orders on January 27 and to focus on existing orders is necessary.

But you might not be out of luck. Customers who missed the order window may be able to find a Maverick on dealership lots as Ford attempts to replenish some supply. You can also sign up to be notified once the order books reopen.

Those facing Maverick Hybrid delays have been provided with a free Ford Integrated Tether System (FITS) kit. It includes a storage bin, phone cord organizer, cupholder, bag hooks, and dividers for the under-seat storage.

Is the 2023 Maverick worth the wait?

According to Car Buzz, you can order the 2023 Ford Maverick on August 16, 2022. Then production will quickly begin at the Ford Hermosilla Assembly Plant on October 24, 2022. However, keep in mind that these dates could change due to supply chain issues.

The ongoing semiconductor chip shortage is still a significant factor that’s impacting automotive companies. Supply shortages are causing delays and are even forcing some manufacturing plants to shut down for extended periods.

The 2023 model will most likely be a carryover model with small changes. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid with 191 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque and the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with 250 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque will be the two powertrain options.

Rumors suggest that the Ford Maverick EV could be in the works. However, an electric Maverick could be years away as Ford works to develop two new dedicated EV architectures for larger trucks and SUVs.

Will the 2023 Maverick be better for off-roading?

It’s possible that the 2023 Ford Maverick could receive enhanced off-roading equipment and new off-roading focused trim level. Many fans wish that the Maverick Hybrid could be paired with AWD.

Chief Engineer, Christopher Mazur, shared that nothing architectural prevents an AWD hybrid variant. This could mean that Ford can and may offer an all-wheel drive hybrid model later.

Plus, there are rumors of the Ford Maverick Tremor floating around. The Tremor would provide beefier off-roading upgrades than the FX4 off-roading package. Its unibody construction probably wouldn’t stand up to the high-speed trail-crushing abilities that come with the Raptor name.

They say that good things come to those who wait, so hopefully, the 2023 Maverick provides extra goodies. We’ve only heard rumors about the 2023 model so far, but we will update you once we receive concrete information.
