The Chrysler 300 is heading to the automotive history books soon, just like the Dodge Charger. However, during its 18-year tenure, the modern Chrysler 300 sedan created some posh American four-door options for your next used car. So, should you consider the 2015 Chrysler 300 for your next used sedan? Or should you avoid a 2015 model year, like the 2015 Chrysler 300C or 300C Platinum? 

How much is a used 2015 Chrysler 300?

A used 2015 Chrysler 300 is an affordable luxury bargain compared to a new 300. According to Kelley Blue Book (KBB), a 2015 Chrysler 300 with average mileage has a fair purchase value of about $14,211. Of course, higher trims demand more of a premium. For instance, a 2015 model year with a 5.7L Hemi V8 has a fair value of $15,626, depending on location, mileage, and packages. 

In comparison, a new 2023 model year is a much more expensive undertaking. A new Chrysler 300 starts at around $35,140 for the entry-level Touring trim. Before you dismiss the used 2015 model, the latest models are very similar to the older cars. For instance, the older and newer models use a 3.6L Pentastar V6 mill for a base powerplant. 

What trims did the 2015 model year offer?

The 2015 Chrysler 300 has a similar trim lineup to the newest models. The entry-level 2015 trim is the Limited, which packs a 3.6L V6 and a standard TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. Further up the trim lines, the 300S and 300C have optional all-wheel drive (AWD). However, the 363-horsepower 5.7L Hemi V8 can’t be paired with the AWD system. The range-topping trim is the Chrysler 300C Platinum, which features luxury materials like Nappa leather seats and hand-sanded wood. 

Compared to the 2023 version, the trim lines are very similar. For instance, the 300 Touring, 300S, and 300C are back, although the C model is a limited edition model with a 485-horsepower 6.4L V8. However, unlike the new C, the 2015 trim lineup doesn’t include a tire-roasting 6.4L V8.  

How reliable is a 2015 Chrysler 300S?

The 2015 Chrysler 300S is just as reliable as the other trims in the vehicle’s lineup. Specifically, the 2015 model has been recalled five times by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The recalls include airbag and powertrain issues. However, Consumer Reports says they expect the 300 to be more reliable than comparable cars from the model year. 

Does the 300 have a good engine?

The 2015 Chrysler 300 packs a workhorse standard powerplant, namely the 3.6L V6. However, the Chrysler 300S, 300C, and 300C Platinum have an optional 5.7L Hemi V8. Unlike the 2014 model year, the 2015 Chrysler sedan goes without the powerful SRT8 trim and its bigger 6.4L V8.
