The 2015 Toyota Avalon is just one of the many years fans of the used Toyota models can consider when choosing a reliable car. However, with so many used models to pick from, is the 2015 model worth it? Or should you consider a different variant, like the 2016 or 2014 Toyota Avalon?

How reliable is a 2015 Toyota Avalon?

The 2015 Toyota Avalon is a reliable if also lackluster, large sedan option. For instance, the model earned a “Seal of Awesome” from Car Complaints based on its drama-free ownership and lack of owner complaints.

Furthermore, the used Avalon earned an 83 out of 100 from J.D. Power for overall quality and reliability. In fact, the 2015 model tied the comparably old Buick LaCrosse for J.D. Power’s Best Large Car of 2015.

Fortunately for owners, the 2015 Toyota Avalon has the potential to last between 250,000 and 300,000 miles with proper care and maintenance. Moreover, the Avalon’s average annual repair cost of $454 makes it an affordable vehicle to maintain and run.

Specifically, the iSeeCars’ lifespan study says that a used Avalon has a potential mileage of 245,710 miles, earning it the No. 1 spot in the sedans and hatchbacks category. However, that figure reflects average odometer readings for high-mileage examples and not the maximum distance an Avalon can cover in its lifespan. Some 2015 Avalons on sale today boast well over 250,000 miles.

Is an Avalon nicer than a Camry?

For potential owners and sedan shoppers who want a larger, nicer car than the Toyota Camry, the Avalon delivers. While both sedans have seating for five occupants, the Avalon has an extra 0.6 to 1.0 cubic feet of cargo capacity over the Camry, depending on the model year.

Moreover, used Avalons, like the 2015 and 2016 Toyota Avalons, feature more handsomely appointed interiors than the cheaper Camry models. For instance, the older Avalon models featured standard leather and cloth seats and heated seats. Instead, the comparable Camry reserves features like those for higher trims.

How much is a 2015 Avalon?

A 2015 Toyota Avalon has a fair value of around $14,909. That value reflects an example with an average mileage of 102,909 for a 2015 model.

Potential owners who want a lower-mileage example might have to contend with higher sales prices. For instance, a 2015 Avalon with 70,000 miles has a fair value of about $17,158.

Why is the Toyota Avalon discontinued?

After the 2022 model year, Toyota discontinued the Avalon to accommodate the new, lifted Toyota Crown. The automaker says the Avalon suffered from decreasing sales year after year.
