While the 2016 model had some pretty impressive features on it, there were also a few things that Colorado owners did not like about the truck. Standard features in the 2016 Chevy Colorado

The base model of the 2016 Chevy Colorado does not offer too many special features. The truck comes standard with a 4.2-inch infotainment display, one USB port, and a six-speaker sound system. The interior is decked out in soft upholstery and vinyl trim which helps to add a little bit to the overall comfort factor. Also, 16-inch wheels are standard on the Colorado, with 17-inch wheels available on higher trims.

What was new for the 2016 Chevy Colorado?

The Chevy Colorado received several updates for the 2016 year model. First, the infotainment system was upgraded to feature Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and also had smartphone projection technology. The modest interior does have an impressive amount of interior space for a small truck. The cloth-wrapped seats look nice, but definitely are not the most comfortable seats that are available in that class.

Another change for 2016 Colorado is that it offered three different engine options. The standard engine is 2.5-liter I-4 that delivers 200 hp and 191 lb-ft of torque. For a little more power, the 2016 Colorado also offers a 3.6-liter V6 engine that delivers 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque.

What really impressed many Chevy fans about the 2016 Colorado was the new turbo diesel engine that was introduced in 2016. The 2.8-liter turbo diesel produces 186 hp and an impressive 369 lb-ft of torque and is able to tow up to 5,000 pounds.

What is the biggest complaint that drivers have about the interior?

For the most part, Chevy Colorado owners are fine with the truck’s basic-looking interior and minimal tech features. After all, the main selling points on the truck are its power and agility. Most people don’t purchase the Colorado because they are looking for a luxurious vehicle; they buy it because it is tough enough and powerful enough to perform a variety of tasks, while also being small enough to get in and out of tight spaces with ease.

With that said, Chevy Colorado owners still expect the truck’s interior to be functional, and they are finding that when it comes to the 2016 model, they are unable to use a few of the interior components.

Consumer Reports gave the 2016 model a poor rating overall and reported that many customers were mainly unhappy with the truck’s interior. One customer had complained that the infotainment screen kept spontaneously going black, making it impossible to control the radio or use the reverse camera. And Car Complaints reported that one driver kept having problems with the radio’s volume turning up by itself and the radio would not turn off. This customer had said that he had to drive the truck to the service department with the windows rolled down because the radio was boarding so loudly and he could not turn it down.

Another problem with the truck’s interior is the fact that it is common for the stitching to come apart on the seats. Three different Colorado owners complained about this on Car Complaints. All three of the owners had said that the stitching came apart before the truck was even one year old. One customer said that they had to get the seat fixed three times within the first nine months of owning the truck.

There were a few other complaints about the truck’s interior, including the backup camera not turning off, keys getting stuck in the ignition, and the USB charging ports not working properly. Chevy trucks have long been one of America’s favorite brand of pickup. However, for some reason, the 2016 Chevy Colorado seemed to miss the mark completely when it came to the interior.
