The Ram 1500 pickup truck is a favorite of drivers. Since the truck has been around for a few years, what are some of the best 2017 Ram 1500 trim options? Depending on what you need your truck for, there is one to suit your needs.

The 2017 Ram is reliable

Consumer Reports ranks the Ram 1500 on the best full-size pickup truck list year after year. CR uses various tests to determine a truck’s scores, such as fuel economy, safety, ride, and owner satisfaction.

The 2017 truck came with an eight-speed automatic transmutation. The standard engine was a 3.6L V6 (305 hp), a 5.7L Hemi V8 (395 hp), or a 3L V6 Diesel (240 hp). CR gave it a one-star rating for the fuel economy.

The reliability score was three out of five and owner satisfaction came in at four out of five. The transmission got a full five out of five.

The best 2017 Ram is the Laramie

The 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie has high ratings across the board. The towing capacity is 4,190 to 8,010 pounds, which covers a lot of things.

The Laramie is generally one of the more luxurious trim levels. It offers leather upholstered heated front seats and an upgraded entertainment system. It also has LED lights in the bed and some extra safety features like automatic rain-sensing wipers.

AutoTrader has the 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie for sale with 89,837 miles for $31,995. Another one with similar miles is listed at $34,880.

The Sport option

The Ram 1500 Sport package is in between the Laramie and the Rebel. It comes with LED lighting and 20′ wheels. It also comes equipped with a V8. On AutoTrader, a used 2017 RAM 1500 Sport with 47,233 miles is listed at $35,295.

The Hemi V8 engine can tow up to 10,500 pounds, while the turbo V6 can tow more than 9,000 pounds. It also gets about 30 miles per gallon on the highway.

The regular V6 can tow up to 7,600 pounds. The turbo option would cost you about $3,000 more, but it seems worth it for the towing and mpg.

The Ram 1500 Rebel is best for adventures

The Ram 1500 Rebel has bigger all-terrain tires and a factory lift. It has an electronic locking rear differential to ensure it can handle all of the adventures you throw at it.

It also has red interior accents, LED headlights, taillights, and fog lights. The Rebel comes with slightly smaller wheels in an 18″, which is arguably better for off-roading.

The Rebel does not have the heated seats like the Laramie, which just means it is easier to wipe the mud off, right? It also has the meanest front end.

A 4×4 Rebel Crew Cab with 63,140 is listed at $38,890. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the truck four out of five stars for both driver and passenger frontal-crash safety.

You can’t go wrong with any of these

Across the board, the 2017 Ram 1500 scored pretty high. These trims offer different things to suit different driver’s needs. If you are looking for some luxury, the 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie is probably the best choice. If you want a more suitable truck for adventure, the 2017 Ram 1500 Rebel fits the bill.
