2019 SEMA Show Mopar Concept Jeep and Ram
Ram and Jeep share a lot in common besides the company that manufactures them. Both can be built up with aftermarket off-road components from the Mopar Parts catalog to make them trail-blazers of the best kind. Since the SEMA Show in Las Vegas is a showcase for the vehicle aftermarket it is natural to see some great Jeep and Ram off-road ideas including the concept feature vehicles here.
There is a myriad of Jeep and Ram concepts sprinkled throughout the 2019 SEMA Show. These two were done by each brand’s in-house marketing groups. They spotlight some of the new Jeep and Ram parts available from its Mopar parts catalog through Ram and Jeep dealers.
2019 Ram 1500 Rebel OTG
The 2020 Ram 1500 Rebel is done up in an overland version that it calls “OTG” or Off The Grid. As an overland truck, it can get you far away from civilization and still take care of all of your needs in the middle of nowhere.
Power comes from Ram’s EcoDiesel engine. Cherry-picking from the Mopar parts catalog is a prototype high-flow grille with flow-through Ram block letters. The steel bumper holds the Power Wagon winch. A prototype intake snorkel is prominently displayed and will be available soon according to Mopar.
A stripper Ram Tradesman vinyl floor cover and rear bumper without the exhaust cutouts were also used. The exhaust has been tucked up behind the bumper for a better departure angle. Mopar off-road lights, rock rails, wheels, and fender flares have been added. Both the utility rack and tent are from Yakima.
Dometic supplied the roof-mounted solar array and bed-mounted cooler. The split tailgate was modeled as a fold-out landing for cooking items or as a table.
2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited SEMA Concept
The Jeep 2019 SEMA concept is an off-road spotlight featuring Mopar parts one can add to his or her Wrangler. Jeep built this Wrangler by Rubicon specs. The mesh covers for its tube-doors are prototypes set to go into production soon. They keep branches and mud clods from getting you while still providing the open-air feel.
The mirror brackets for the tube doors are also prototypes. When available they will provide better rearward visibility one can add to any tube-door. A two-inch lift kit, Fox Racing shocks, beadlock-ready wheels, rock rails, steel bumper, and off-road lights are right out of the Mopar parts catalog. A cold-air intake has been added to the engine compartment.
The factory steel front bumper features a winch kit up in front like every off-road Jeep should have, fog lights, and tow hooks and D-ring attachments, too. Additional items featured include the tube doors, rock rails, snorkel, Katzkin leather upholstery, rubber floor mats, and tailgate table. In all this is one great concept built by the originators of the off-roading vehicles.
In addition to these two concepts, the Mopar Parts people have scattered 12 other concepts around the SEMA halls for 2019.
