If you’re shopping for a used car, then it could be worth it to check out a 2019 Toyota Corolla. Since the car is three years old, it’s taken the biggest depreciation hit while still retaining a lot of its original luster. However, choosing the right trim level can be tricky, so here is a breakdown of the 2019 Corolla.

The 2019 Toyota Corolla is available in six different trim levels

Picking the right 2019 Toyota Corolla for you is easy as there are only six different trim levels to choose from – L, LE, LE Eco, XLE, SE, and XSE. According to Autotrader, all of the trim levels except for the LE Eco come standard with a 132-hp, 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that’s mated to an automatic transmission.

The LE Eco trim is powered by a 140-hp, 1.8-liter engine that squeezes out a few more miles per gallon to the tune of 30 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway. In contrast, the other trims levels average 28 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.

Additionally, every 2019 Corolla comes standard with Toyota’s Safety Sense P suite of driver’s assist features. That suite includes features like a pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and auto high beams.

Opting for the base-trim Corolla L doesn’t mean that you’re getting a stripped-down car. On the contrary, the entry-level car comes standard with an array of features including 15-inch wheels, LED headlights, and all of the power accessories. Other features include air conditioning, hill-start assist, a 6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker audio system.

The Corolla LE gives you a little more

Stepping up to the Corolla LE adds more convenience features like heated side mirrors, auto-climate control, and a 60/40 split-folding backseat. Other notable standard features include a remote keyless entry and 16-inch steel wheels, however, some options like a power moonroof and LED daytime running lights can also be found on this trim.

The Corolla LE Eco adds a more fuel-efficient engine

As you can probably tell from the trim designation, the Corolla LE Eco offers the same features as the LE trim with the exception of the more fuel-efficient engine. That engine offers more miles per gallon and a little more horsepower, so if that’s what you need, look for this trim level.

The XLE trim offers more luxuries

If you need a little more luxury out of your Corolla, then find an XLE trim. This version adds 16-inch alloy wheels, multi-LED headlights, a power moonroof, a 7-inch touchscreen, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Faux-leather seats, heated front seats, and an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat are also included.

The 2019 Corolla SE adds a touch of sportiness and a manual transmission

If you need a little more sportiness out of your Corolla, then find an SE trim level. This trim builds on the LE trim by adding 17-inch alloy wheels, multi-LED headlights, faux-leather seating, and a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. The best part is that this trim was also available with a six-speed manual transmission. So if you like to shift the gears yourself, this is the trim to get.

The top-trim XSE gives you the most for your money

The Corolla XSE trim adds the SE Premium package to the sporty equation. That package includes a 7-inch touchscreen, keyless entry, push-button start, and a power moonroof. If you’re looking for sportiness with a touch more luxury, this is the one to get.

How much does a 2019 Toyota Corolla cost?

According to a nationwide search on Car Gurus, you can currently find a 2019 Toyota Corolla for anywhere from $12,000 to $30,000 depending on the car’s trim level, condition, and location.
