The Hyundai Palisade hasn’t been around for very long, but it’s already receiving some significant complaints. Owners of the 2020 Hyundai Palisade have been finding a few expensive problems to fix already, so be sure to read reviews before buying your SUV. 

Hyundai Palisade problems that can’t be ignored 

It’s a little concerning that people are already reporting problems with the 2020 Hyundai Palisade. It just came out with the Kia Telluride, and there hasn’t been that much time to accrue mileage on these brand new SUVs. 

However, according to CarComplaints, owners are becoming pretty frustrated. This forum allows people who own the Palisade to list issues that they’ve experienced. CarComplaints also lists issues reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), meaning the problems could be dangerous. 

2020 Hyundai Palisade Windshield problems 

About 50 drivers have already reported issues related to the Hyundai Palisade’s windshield. One driver heard a small pop as a pebble hit their windshield while going about 20 mph, then the crack spread from a small knick to across ½ of the windshield. 

Another Palisade owner found a random 5″ crack on their windshield one morning, but they don’t recall a rock hitting it. Then while their windshield was being replaced, two new cracks mysteriously appeared. 

One driver was at a shop having an exoshield installed to protect their windshield when it suddenly shattered. Other drivers noticed that cracks on their windshields grew overnight while their vehicles were parked too. 

2020 Palisade wind and noise problems 

A few Hyundai Palisade owners reported complaints about wind noise, which may not be caused by a mechanical issue. While driving at highway speeds, a whistling noise may enter the cabin. Drivers seem to notice that the noise comes from the driver’s side door and front passenger door. 

Another driver noted that the wind noise increases as they accelerate. The noise will begin around 30 mph and get louder. But other drivers also noticed that a high pitched whistling sound occurs at lower speeds too. 

Sometimes wind noise even fills the cabin when the Hyundai Palisade is parked. Drivers are complaining that the noise is loud and distracting. Also, the cause of the wind noise hasn’t been discovered yet, so it’s hard to fix. 

Also, there is one report of a mysterious cabin odor that won’t go away. They didn’t notice it at the dealership, but now every time they get in their SUV, it stinks. They ran a dehumidifier in the cabin, placed baking soda in the carpet, and more, but it still stinks. 

Hyundai Palisade electrical problems 

Drivers are starting to report electrical problems for the Hyundai Palisade too. One driver had their infotainment center fail at 128 miles. The screen emitted a bright flash and then became inoperable. Then the backup camera failed too. 

One driver accrued 2,100 miles on their Palisade before the digital and analog speedometer both stopped working. The gas gauge also didn’t move after filling up the tank. However, resetting the vehicle to factory defaults solved these issues, for now at least. 

For some odd reason, another owner faced infotainment issues when it was cold outside. Their touchscreen wouldn’t respond during the winter. They could only use voice commanded for their navigation system until temperatures warmed up in April.
