Pickup trucks are without a doubt one of the most popular vehicles in America. They come fully equipped to haul and work around the ranch or sleek and shiny for the slicked out city slicker. There are a lot of great trucks out there, but not everyone comes out on top. According to Consumer Reports, these three 2020 pickup trucks are the worst of the year.

All three trucks are made by brands that are trusted pickup manufacturers. The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, the GMC Sierra 1500, and the Ford F-250 are the three at the bottom of the Consumer Reports list of 8 full-size CR-tested pickup trucks.

The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

This truck is definitely a favorite, and didn’t do to poorly as far as the road test goes. CR gives the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 an overall score of 55 with a road test rating of 78.

This 2020 pickup truck has a starting price range at $29,600 – $58,500. With a reported miles per gallon average of 17 mpg, this truck isn’t bragging about its fuel economy.

The Chevrolet pickup has a pretty poor reliability rating. In fact, it has four recalls for the 2020 model year. CR praises the 2020 improvements such as higher payload and max towing capacity. But the report also noted the inconvenient height for stepping into the vehicle.

The 2020 GMC Sierra 1500

The GMC Sierra 1500 is an identical truck to the Chevy pickup on the list. The 2020 Sierra received the same score as the 2020 Silverado. An overall rating of 55 with a road test rating of 78 bring this truck into the bottom three right alongside its Chevrolet counterpart.

A 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 will run a little higher than a 2020 Chevy Silverado with a starting range between $29,600 – $58,500. Keeping tune with the similarity between the two trucks, the GMC also has a reported average miles per gallon of 17 mpg.

In CR review, the comments were remarkably similar to the comments for the 2020 Chevy Silverado review. The driving experience, cargo, and interior rated high while the 2020 Sierra received very low marks for predicted reliability.

The 2020 Ford F-250

It’s never fun to see an F-series at the bottom of any list. Of the 8 full-size pickup trucks that CR road tested, the 2020 F-250 takes the 8th spot. With a sad overall scoring of 48 paired with a low road test of 53, this Ford pickup truck appears to get it wrong in a number of areas.

Yet despite the low ratings, the CR review praises the F-250 for its towing capabilities and its upgrades in technology that’s give it more refined competitive edge in the work truck world. A price range between $34,035 – $84,130 means this one has loads of options. It can be as basic or as knocked out and fully loaded as you want.

The 2020 Ford F-250 only gets an average of 15 miles per gallon, according to CR. But this thing isn’t designed for great mileage, it’s design for heavy duty jobs. If you need a big heavy hauler, you may not want to shy away from the 2020 F-250 just because of its sub par CR ratings.

The three worst full-size pickup trucks of 2020

These three make up the worst of all 2020 model year full-size trucks that CR has road tested for 2020. The Chevy Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, and the Ford F-250 each have potential. But they don’t necessarily shine when compared to others like the Toyota Tundra and the Ram 1500 Classic.
