The V8 engine is a staple among American muscle cars and sports cars. You can find it in Corvettes, Challengers and even some Aston Martins, but those all have one thing in common: they are sports cars. Of course, if you wanted to spend almost twice that you could get the Dodge Charger Hellcat and still be getting that V8 engine, only with 707hp instead. It will set you back around $69,995 but many owners think it’s worth it for the iconic Hellcat performance.

The All-New Cadillac CT6-V

The new Cadillac CT6-V enters the lineup and partners high-end luxury with speed, wrapped into a sedan package. Thew CT6-V has a sticker price starting at $94,895 and, of course, it has a 4.2L V8 engine under the hood. The CT6-V is new to the Cadillac lineup, but it has all of the power and luxury we’ve expected from the Cadillac “V” cars of previous years. It has 550hp wrapped into a luxury sedan, making it an unexpectedly fun car to drive.

And, of course, the BMW M5

The BMW M series cars are known for their driving experience, and the M5 is no different. The BMW M5 has a starting price of $102,7000 and that will get you a powerful V8 and 600hp, or you can upgrade to the Competition trim for $110,000 and get an additional 20hp and other performance upgrades. Whichever trim you chose, the M5 is a fantastically practical car for picking up groceries, driving around with friends, or dropping the kids off at school.

Left alone, you can open the M5 up on the road and appreciate it’s snappy acceleration and great handling, both of which will almost make you forget you’re driving a full-size sedan in the first place.

American muscle, German or classic luxury, whatever your taste may be, these sedans offer it all.
