Cadillac makes a lot of luxury SUVs that Americans love, and Cadillac’s latest model year of the XT4 doesn’t disappoint. It’s not a perfect SUV by any means, but it doesn’t have that many issues, either. Here’s a look at the 2021 Cadillac XT4 and why it’s a great SUV. 

What’s great about the 2021 Cadillac XT4?

According to Kelley Blue Book, there’s a lot to love about the latest XT4. At a starting price of about $36,000, the XT4 isn’t that expensive for a Cadillac, and for that price tag, XT4 owners will get a lot of bang for their buck.

That’s mainly because the XT4 has what Kelley Blue Book called, “category-straddling size.” The XT4 is smaller than compact SUVs, but it’s also larger than subcompact SUVs. 

On top of that, the XT4 is also a distinctly luxurious car. Not only does it have what Kelley Blue Book described as a “stylish & distinct” interior and exterior, but it’s also relatively spacious for an SUV of its size.

Kelley Blue Book said that regular adults can sit comfortably in the XT4’s rear seats, and additionally, it has a decent amount of cargo room. Without folding its rear seats, it gets about 22.5 cu. ft. of cargo space, and with its rear seats folded, it gets 48.9 cu. ft. of cargo space.

And of course, it also has plenty of standard features. It comes with an 8-inch touch screen display that’s compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Furthermore, the XT4 also has a WiFi hotspot, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a lot of standard smart safety features such as forward collision mitigation and a pedestrian detection system, according to Kelley Blue Book. 

What’s bad about the 2021 Cadillac XT4

But of course, Kelley Blue Book didn’t think that the XT4 was a flawless SUV. In fact, Kelley Blue Book had two issues with the XT4. Fortunately for folks who are curious about the XT4, both of these issues are extremely minor issues, and one of them is more than likely a nitpick. 

For example, while Kelley Blue Book praised the comfortable ride quality of the XT4, Kelley Blue Book also wrote that the XT4’s cabin “could be quieter.” It’s not exactly clear why Kelley Blue Book thought that the XT4’s cabin wasn’t quiet enough, but that was one of the criticisms that it had against the XT4. 

The other criticism that Kelley Blue Book had was in regard to the XT4’s Cadillac crest. Kelley Blue Book wrote that the Cadillac crest on the XT4 simply “doesn’t have the same prestige as German badges.” 

Should the badge on your car really matter?

Certainly, some people buy luxury cars for the prestige of it. By owning a famous luxury brand such as a Ferrari or a BMW, some people may get a different impression about that person than if they were driving around in a Toyota or a Ford. However, by and large, most customers aren’t like this. 

At the end of the day, how prestigious a car’s badge is won’t affect how well the car runs or how comfortable it is. Those are some of the main selling points of the XT4, and most customers are probably more concerned about those things than they are about how prestigious their car’s badge is. 

That said, the fact that Kelley Blue Book listed this issue as one of the XT4’s cons is a sign of how good of an SUV it is. It’s a nitpick, and if that’s one of the only problems that Kelley Blue Book had with the XT4, then it’s probably a good enough SUV for most people.
