The 2021 Fiat 500X Pop Offers Just Enough for the Price
The 2021 Fiat 500X is a genuinely small compact SUV. Compared to bigger, more popular options on the street, the 500X looks pretty adorable, but don’t let its appearances deceive you. Among the various trim levels, the Fiat 500X offers a surprising amount of agility, a touch of performance, and a sprinkle of luxury. Wrapped up into a petite and affordable priced four-door, the 2021 Fiat 500X offers only what you are looking for.
The 2021 Fiat 500X Pop
Unlike more easy-to-understand trim levels, the Pop trim level of the 2021 Fiat 500X is the entry-level base model option. On its own, the 500X Pop costs a measly $25,815 — which isn’t an unreasonable price for everything it has to offer. With only a handful of more advanced options you can choose for the Fiat 500X, you might find yourself slightly disappointed with what the Pop has to offer.
The bare minimum and nothing more
The styling choices of the 2021 Fiat 500X Pop are what make it stand out from the competition. Its small stature makes it a vehicle designed to navigate busy city streets or feel like a comfortable and controllable choice for new drivers. You pretty much get the basics from the Pop, like cloth seats, a six-speaker sound system, and 17-inch wheels. What you can’t tell from most pictures is that the Fiat 500X itself is technically classified as an extra-small crossover SUV.
Power and performance for the Fiat 500X
As an SUV, the 2021 Fiat 500X Pop isn’t really an off-road capable vehicle. It sits awkwardly between sedans and SUVs as an extra-small crossover SUV, so it also doesn’t offer a ton of cargo space, either. The turbocharged 1.3-liter 4-cylinder engine won’t be turning any heads, but it does provide a comfortable 177 hp, which isn’t horrible for a lighter vehicle. It’s also noted for being unexpectedly agile, so while it isn’t as fast as performance-focused SUVs like the Lamborghini Urus, it does still offer an enjoyable driving experience.
Overall there are a few reasons to love the 2021 Fiat 500X Pop, and even if it isn’t the most exciting vehicle on the market, it still gives you what you pay for. It’s a decent bargain for the price of a new SUV option.
For a few thousand dollars more, Edmunds recommends upgrading to the Trekking trim instead. The Trekking trim costs about $26,815 and gives drivers the option of leather upholstery, navigation, and a sunroof, for just a small added cost. To many drivers, the difference in price is well worth the upgrade, but you can still expect the same engine and performance.
