The Ford Bronco is one of the most hotly anticipated SUV debuts in years. People have been waiting on pins and needles for any information regarding its return. Ford has done a good job of keeping the Bronco fans stirred in enthusiasm during the entire time. But, on Saturday, Ford finally announced a specific date for the rebirth of the nameplate.

Bronco debut put back on calendar

The 2021 Ford Bronco was supposed to debut weeks ago. However, the COVID-19 global pandemic put a hold on those plans. In fact, it put a hold on pretty much the entire automotive industry’s plans to debut almost anything. But now that things are starting to get back to somewhat normal work situations, the debut of the SUV has been put back on the calendar.

Just a few days ago, Ford announced on their official accounts that the debut of the off-roader would be in July. So, speculation started flowing through the webosphere that it would be around the July 4th Independence Day celebrations. After all, what would be more American than bringing back an American off-road legend on July 4th? I was referring to the Bronco, of course.

Debut is set for July 9th

Well, the debut is not happening on July 4th. Instead, a post on Ford’s Instagram account announced the first appearance is happening on July 9th, which is still in the proverbial Freedom Month. The caption with the date said it all, “The Wild Returns.” The Instagram post is below.

Motorbiscuit will be covering the Bronco debut

Within hours, people in the Bronco forums online were already checking their calendars to see if they had off on July 9th. It is a Thursday, by the way. Don’t worry, if you can not see the reveal yourself, Motorbiscuit has been put on notice and will be sure to bring all the details as they are made available.

What we know about the Bronco

This is what we already know about the Bronco. The debut on July 9th will be for the bigger version, not the smaller Bronco Sport. The bigger Bronco will be based on the Ford Ranger chassis. Speculation and some spy photos that have made it to the internet have shown it will be convertible is some way. There will be two and four-door models. We know that the Bronco will go head-to-head against the Jeep Wrangler. Finally, we also know that there will be plenty of upgrade accessories available on day one of the SUVs availability.

The webosphere is alive with excitement. The intensity of love for the Ford Bronco nameplate and the idea of its rebirth has made fans turn into the likes of children at the candy store. The off-road forums are buzzing with activity. Who can blame them, especially when they see even the head of Ford itself unable to contain his own passion for the Bronco by laying down some smacktalk toward the Jeep Wrangler community? Ahh, don’t you just love the off-road fellowship? This should be fun to watch.
