If the new Ford F-150 Raptor is priced a little too high, you can save with the 2021 Ford F-150 Tremor. Both versions of these F-Series trucks are for off-roading, but you can save thousands with the Tremor package instead of the Raptor. 

What comes with the 2021 Ford F-150 Tremor? 

The 2021 Ford F-150 Tremor begins at about $51,200. According to Autoblog, the Ford Raptor starts at about $65,840. So, you can save about $14,640 with the Tremor package. Also, these prices include the destination fee but not the dealership fees. 

Both the Tremor and Raptor are only offered with a SuperCrew cab, and they feature the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. The engine provides 400 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque, but the amount of horsepower the 2021 Raptor will have hasn’t been revealed yet. 

Also, the Ford Tremor will be offered in these three grades: 

• Standard equipment group 400A. 
• Mid equipment group 401A for $6,065.
• High equipment group 402A for $13,445. 

The Tremor includes unique front hub knuckles and upper control arms, model-specific monotube and rear twin-tube shocks, 33-inch all terrain tires mounted on 18-inch wheels, a one-inch wider stance, and a front skid plate that’s similar to the Raptors. 

Suspension upgrades include a locking rear differential and an optional Torsen limited-slip differential. Extra upgrades such as the torque-on-demand transfer case are limited to higher trim levels. 

With the Tremor, the F-150 gains 1.5-inches of ground clearance in the rear and one inch upfront. This truck has a 27.6-degree approach angle, 21.2-degree break-over angle, and a departure angle of 24.3 degrees. 

Extra drive modes for the Ford F-150 Tremor include a one-pedal driving mode for trails. It’s a high-precision driving mode that automatically applies the brakes once you lift your foot off the accelerator. Also, the middle-path approach uses a three-grade strategy. 

What comes with the Ford Raptor? 

The 2021 Ford Tremor is described as a Ford Raptor-lite. The 2021 Ford Raptor has a totally redesigned, coil-based suspension and optional 37-inch factory tires. The rear suspension has a coil-sprung, five-link setup with extra-long trailing arms and a Panhard rod with Fox Live Valve internal bypass shocks. 

With the standard 35-inch tires, you get 12-inches of ground clearance, an approach angle of 31-degrees, a 22.7-degree break-over angle, and a 23.9-degree departure angle.

The 37-inch tires provide an extra inch of ground clearance. The Ford Raptor includes an electronic locking rear differential with an optional limited-slip in the front. It includes the one-pedal driving mode, too.

What about the 2022 Ford Raptor R? 

The 2022 Ford Raptor R might put the 2021 Ford F-150 Tremor and Raptor out to pasture once it comes out with a V8 engine to rival the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX. The Ford Raptor R could have the 5.2-liter supercharged V8 that’s found in the Mustang Shelby GT500. 

It looks like the Pro Power On Board Generator could be included with other goodies such as the interior work surface. But we don’t have much to go on. We’ve only heard rumors and seen camouflaged photos so far.
