The 2021 Hyundai Palisade continues to impress, receiving countless awards and accolades for its superior performance. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recently awarded the Palisade 2021 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ honors.

The criteria for this designation are very stringent, with a shortlist of vehicles earning the IIHS ranking. Automobiles are tested for their safety features, including roof strength, head restraints, and crash test results. “Good” is the highest rating, and only cars that receive superior evaluations earn the Top Safety Pick+ award.

According to U.S. News, the 2021 Hyundai received IIHS good ratings across the board for its safety features. 

Introduced for the 2020 model year, the four-door midsize SUV also received recognition from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, earning a five-star overall safety rating.

The 2021 Hyundai Palisade’s safety features include lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, forward collision prevention, traction control, and electronic stability control. The SUV also has a four-wheel ABS using disc brakes. Airbags, automatic cruise control, rear occupant alert, and child safety locks round out the class-leading safety features that make the Palisade worthy of safety awards.

In a recent press release, Hyundai announced that NEMPA recognized the 2021 Hyundai Palisade as the Best-in-Class Midsize Crossover.

“Once again, Hyundai proves it can deliver upscale design and build quality at an unbeatable price,” NEMPA Vice President Clifford Atiyeh noted. “The Palisade is attracting people in higher income brackets who would have bought an SUV from a traditional luxury brand.”

This upscale SUV starts at only $32,675 and gets an estimated fuel economy rating of 26 mpg on the highway. The V6 engine outputs an impressive 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque.

For those looking to tow small recreational vehicles, the Hyundai Palisade is a good option. It can handle up to 5,000 pounds and includes a trailer sway control bar for added stability. Optional all-wheel drive is available, making it easier and safer to haul in inclement weather.

In addition, the Palisade’s new Calligraphy trim offers premium features and class-leading luxury options. The quilted Napa leather seats are the first indication of an opulent cabin. Seating accommodates eight passengers — the second row offers optional captain’s chairs, and the third row offers plenty of room even for adults.

A 10.25-inch display is the focal point of the infotainment system, which also includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. A 12.3-inch digital display cluster assists drivers with state-of-the-art technology features. Second-row passengers have access to USB ports and wireless charging, allowing all occupants to enjoy the Palisade’s tech.

Finally, cargo space is generous, with 18.3 cubic feet behind the third row and 86.4 cubic feet overall with the second- and third-row seats folded down. All 2021 Hyundai vehicles get complimentary maintenance for the first three years or 36,000 miles of ownership, whichever comes first.
