The 2021 Q50 is already available on dealer lots. However, that didn’t stop Infiniti from creating even more excitement with the announcement of the Sensory trim via a press release.

Slotting above the Pure and Luxe models, but below the pricey Red Sport 400, the Sensory adds a host of luxuries to the compact luxury car. This new-for-2021 trim level has a starting MSRP of $47,600. Meanwhile, its all-wheel drive variant is available for an additional $2,000.

The 2021 Infiniti Q50 Sensory will likely be a popular addition to the manufacturer’s lineup, as it emphasizes added luxury at an attainable price.

The Sensory makes premium features more accessible

Those who purchase an Infiniti vehicle expect a certain level of luxury. Finally, the 2021 Infiniti Q50 Sensory delivers on that expectation to its fullest potential. The Sensory isn’t the top-tier trim level in terms of price or performance. However, it goes full-throttle on comfort and technology features.

Choosing the 2021 Q50 Sensory affords you premium luxuries. These include leather-appointed seats, a 16-speaker sound system by Bose, power-folding mirrors, and black open-pore wood interior trim.

The car’s exterior receives some enhancements that help it stand out from the lower trim levels. The Sensory adds sportier elements that make it more closely associated with the Red Sport 400. Although, it still has the same powertrain as the Pure and Luxe models.

Infiniti’s press release states that the Sensory has “a more angular front bumper and wider, lower air intakes (versus non-Sport models) – adding greater visual potency.”

Additionally, the 2021 Infiniti Q50 Sensory comes with twin exhausts, and its rear diffuser is visually enhanced with a two-tone color. 

What else does the 2021 Infiniti Q50 have to offer?

The newest edition of the Q50 isn’t all too different from its predecessor. It’s still powered by a 300-hp 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. However, adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning were made standard on all models.

The 2021 Infiniti Q50 Pure starts at an MSRP of $37,625, marking a $200 increase from the 2020 model. It comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.

Those who upgrade to the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 will experience even more driving thrills. This model unleashes 400 hp by way of its performance-tuned 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. It also has sport brakes, paddle shifters, 19-inch wheels, and other race-inspired details.

Is the Sensory’s hype justified?

The addition of a luxurious fourth trim level may not sway too many new buyers. However, this is a welcomed change for Infiniti Q50 fans. Those already considering the 2021 Q50 now have a clear-cut best option – the value-packed Sensory model.

The Sensory’s relatively reasonable pricepoint and abundance of features are a significant step up from the mid-tier Luxe trim, and it makes the Q50 worth buying. That said, those who want the ultimate 2021 Infiniti Q50 experience – and don’t mind ponying up $55,750 – should still lean toward the Red Sport 400.
