2021 Jeep Models Come With an Insanely Generous Perk

There’s a lot of competition in the SUV segment, and that competition means that each car company will try to one-up each other. Jeeps are already one of the most popular brands in America, and for the 2021 model year, Jeep’s giving customers another reason to buy a Jeep. Here’s a look at the automaker’s insanely generous perk for the 2021 model year.

Jeep is offering free maintenance for three years

According to Car and Driver, Jeep is turning 80 years old soon, and to celebrate, for the 2021 model year, it’ll be offering its Wave Customer Care program to everyone who buys a 2021 model. The main selling point of this program is that it’ll give customers three years of free maintenance as well as 24/7 support. Additionally, this program will have first-day rental coverage as well as trip interruption coverage. On top of that, Car and Driver said that this program will give people VIP access to a few Jeep events.

While that’s the big thing that Jeep is offering to celebrate its 80th anniversary, Jeep is also rolling out a few special edition cars. These 80th anniversary special editions will have “unique wheels, grille accents, and commemorative badging,” according to Car and Driver. These special editions should also be arriving at dealerships and showrooms in late 2020.

How much drivers could save with this program

Three years of free maintenance is no laughing matter, and it can add up to quite a savings down the road. That being said, there are a lot of factors that go into maintenance costs, so it’s difficult to say how much money the average Jeep owner would save from this. After all, it’s entirely possible that a customer buys a Jeep that requires little-to-no maintenance in its first few years, and it’s also possible that the opposite happens.

However, it’s possible to get some averages. For example, RepairPal wrote that the Jeep Wrangler is one of the least reliable SUVs in its segment, and on average, owners can expect to pay about $700 a year for maintenance alone. Across three years, that would translate to $2,100 that the Jeep Wave Customer Care program will save Wrangler owners.

That said, there’s the fine print. Mopar, which is owned by FCA, the company that owns Jeep, said that FCA will reimburse up to $1,000 per interrupted trip, as long as that interruption meets the eligibility requirements. Those three years of free maintenance will also only apply if customers get their vehicles serviced at an FCA dealer. Additionally, fleet and corporate leased cars won’t be eligible for this program, and only Jeep-branded cars will be.

A look at the 2021 Jeep models

There are quite a few options that Jeep is offering in the 2021 model year, and in addition to the classic SUVs that everyone knows and love, there’s also has the Gladiator. The Gladiator is a pickup truck, and it’s as capable as other Jeeps are, while also having benefits that a pickup truck would have. The Gladiator starts at about $33,500, but thanks to this new perk, owners should save quite a bit over the three years of free maintenance.

And of course, there are the older models, such as the Wrangler, the Cherokee, the Compass, and the Renegade. All of these vehicles are in different segments or they have a different design than one another. As a result, Jeep is offering quite a few options for customers looking to buy an SUV for 2021.

Jeep is also aiming to add the Wagoneer to its lineup in 2021, but it’s unclear if that will be eligible for this special program.
