The 2021 Jeep Wrangler offers more engine options

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler offers no shortage of options when it comes to what’s under the hood. While a 285-hp 3.6-liter V6 comes standard, this year’s model can also be had with a 3.6-liter V6 that benefits from the addition of eTorque, a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine that offers up 260-hp, and a 270-hp 2.0-liter turbo engine.

As for the Ford Bronco Sport? This year’s model does offer multiple engine options, just not quite as many as the Jeep Wrangler. Standard on this year’s model is a 181-hp 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine. However, the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport can also be had with a 245-hp turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Unfortunately for the Bronco Sport, those are the only engine options available.

Now, both the 2021 Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco Sport come well-equipped to take on the trails. But let’s talk about what trail-ready features these SUVs actually offer. Opt for the Jeep Wrangler, which is a body-on-frame construction SUV, and enjoy off-road-oriented features like the Wrangler’s available Rock-Trac 4×4 System, which is available in both full-time 4×4 and part-time 4×4. 

This year’s new Jeep Wrangler also includes features like an Off-Road+ button, steel skid plates, front and rear Tru-Lok electronic locking differentials, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and an Electronic Sway Bar Disconnect system. 

Much like the Jeep Wrangler, the Ford Bronco Sport boasts a long list of standard and available off-road-ready features. All models come standard with all-wheel drive, all-terrain tires, a factory lifted suspension, and shock absorbers. It’s also standard with a Terrain Management System that offers up seven G.O.A.T. modes when you opt for the Ford Bronco Sport Badlands model.

How much does the 2021 Jeep Wrangler cost?

When it comes to pricing, the Jeep Wrangler is the more expensive option here. While a base model will run you about $28,475, stepping up to the Wrangler Willy Sport will have you spending around $30,420. As you might have guessed, the Wrangler only gets more expensive from there. Really, opt for the range-topping Rubicon 392 and you’ll find yourself spending a whopping $73,745 on the Jeep Wrangler.

How much does the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport cost?

Fortunately for the Ford Bronco Sport, its base price isn’t quite as high. In fact, this year’s base model will only have you spending $26,820. Upgrade to the Bronco Sport Big Bend and you’ll be spending approximately $28,320. And at its most expensive? This year’s new Ford Bronco Sport will have you spending $38,160, which is significantly less expensive than a range-topping Wrangler Rubicon 392.
