There are many things to consider when buying a new car, and one of those things is just how comfortable a car is. One of the main factors that affect a car’s comfort levels is how quiet the ride is. While many SUVs will give you a quiet ride at a normal price, the 2021 Lincoln Navigator unfortunately will make you pay a lot for that feature.

The 2021 Lincoln Navigator is quiet but expensive

As far as brand-new SUVs with a quiet ride go, there are quite a few options on the market, according to U.S. News. Many of the quietest SUVs are also some of the most popular and affordable ones, such as the Honda CR-V, the Mazda CX-5, and the Kia Telluride. However, luxury automakers like BMW and Lincoln also made the list.

That being said, despite the fact that the Navigator is in good company, it’s by far the most expensive quiet SUV, according to U.S. News. The cheapest options, such as the CR-V and the CX-5, both cost about $25,000, and they’re affordable for many families. The bigger or the more luxurious SUVs, such as the BMW X3 or the Buick Enclave, both cost about $40,000, which is expensive, but not impossibly.

However, the second most expensive quiet SUV, according to U.S. News, is the Mercedes-Benz GLE, which costs about $55,000. The most expensive is the Navigator, which starts at over $76,000. This means that there’s a $21,000 difference between the Navigator and the second most expensive quiet SUV on U.S. News’ list.

It is a very quiet and luxurious SUV, though

Despite that huge price difference, it’s pretty obvious that for those who can afford a 2021 Lincoln Navigator, it’s probably worth the price tag. Like U.S. News wrote, the Navigator has a lot to offer other than a quiet ride, and those features easily explain its $76,000 price tag.

For example, the Navigator is a three-row SUV, which means that it can carry around up to eight people in luxury and style. Not only are the seats spacious and comfortable, but they’re also pretty fancy. U.S. News said that the standard Navigator’s first two rows of seats have leather upholstery, and they’re heated seats as well.

Furthermore, the standard Navigator has a lot of creature comforts that’ll keep passengers entertained. For example, a Wi-Fi hotspot is standard as is wireless device charging. There’s also a standard 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which U.S. News described as “first-rate.”

Since the 2021 Lincoln Navigator is such a big SUV, it naturally has a lot of cargo capacity. With its rear seats folded down, the Navigator gets about 103 cu. ft. of cargo space, which is more than enough for any family. However, if cargo capacity is what a customer wants, they can always opt for the Navigator L trim, which U.S. News said can get over 120 cu. ft. of cargo capacity when its rear seats are folded down.

And of course, a big car will need a big engine, and that’s why the Navigator has a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 as standard. This powerful engine gets about 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. There are currently no other engine options for the Navigator. However, when it’s properly equipped, it can tow up to 8,700 pounds, according to U.S. News. Additionally, this V6 engine gets about 16 MPG in the city and 22 MPG on highways, which is about average.

In addition to all those features, the Navigator is also a safe family SUV as well. It comes standard with many smart safety features such as forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and front and rear parking sensors, just to name a few.
