Sedans sales are dwindling down, but the smaller vehicles will always have a place with those who have a love for speed. There’s just something undeniable about powering around a curve in complete control that some find irresistible. U.S. News, recognizing this, has created a list of the fastest vehicles available for under $30,000, and the Mazda6 Sport easily made the cut.
Considering the wide array of amazing cars Mazda comes out with, it’s no surprise that this vehicle is getting the attention of critics. It’s fast, it’s roomy, and it looks amazing. So how much does it cost, exactly?
Turns out there are a lot of fast vehicles for under $30,000
When it comes to fast vehicles, it’s easy to think of BMW and Porsche. These brands beautiful cars with price tags so high many consumers can only look as they drive past the lot. McLarens, which are in an entirely different league, are so expensive that buying one used is still out of the budget for many families.
This doesn’t mean that all fast vehicles are unaffordable. In fact, U.S. News created a list of 30 cars that can be purchased for less than $30,000.
There is the 2021 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Fastback, the 2021 Chevrolet Camaro 1LT V6, the 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport Touring 6MT, and the 2020 Subaru BRZ.
The Mazda6 is not the only Mazda to make the list, either. The 2021 Mazda Miata Sport, the 2021 Mazda CX-5, the 2021 Mazda CX-30, the 2021 Mazda3 2.5 Turbo AWD, are all affordable and have enough speed to satisfy most consumers.
The Mazda6 Sport can tear up the highway
The Mazda6 might not be the fastest vehicle on this list, but it’s got plenty of power. According to U.S. News,
“Sometimes it’s not the raw horsepower of a car that defines its speed; it’s what it does with that power. The 2021 Mazda6 channels the 187 horsepower it gets from its four-cylinder engine into one of the most agile midsize sedans you can buy.”
So how fast can the Mazda6 go? It can go from 0 to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds. That’s not an insanely fast speed, but it’s not bad either. Still, for the price, it’s more than adequate.
How much does the 2021 Mazda6 cost?
There are six trim levels available on the 2021 Mazda6, and the price ranges from $24,475 to $35,900. The lowest trim level is the Sport. The next level up is the Touring. It costs $27,075.
The Grand Touring trim is where the price starts to creep above $30,000. It costs around $30,175. The Grand Touring Reserve costs $32,675, the Carbon Edition costs $32,950, and the Signatur costs $35,900.
While the higher trim levels can feel a little pricey, it’s still very affordable for what if offers. The lower trims also come with enough standard features to make the Mazda6 a great buy no matter how much you invest in it.
Each trim level comes standard with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. The Touring trim also adds synthetic leather.
So, is the Mazda6 worthy of its place on this list of cars that are both fast and affordable? Absolutely. It’s got all the features that make it stand out, and the price is hard to beat.
