There are many great luxury EVs on the market, and two of the best are the 2022 Audi e-tron GT and 2022 Porsche Taycan. While both German luxury EVs are great options with numerous similarities, especially in their range, price, and performance, the Audi has some advantages over the Porsche. Here are three benefits to choosing the 2022 Audi e-tron GT over the 2022 Porsche Taycan

1. The 2022 Audi e-tron GT has more standard features for the price

U.S. News wrote that German luxury EVs are similar, especially when it comes to their price tags. The Taycan 4S AWD starts at about $104,000, while the e-tron GT Premium Plus Quattro begins at about $102,500. At such a close price point, it comes down to the features. For the price, the Audi comes with more features than the Porsche. This includes luxury features as well as some practical ones.

For example, the e-tron GT has a panoramic sunroof as standard, which is simply an option on the Taycan. Audi also gave the car fog lamps, an adjustable steering wheel, and a dual-zone climate control system as standard. The Taycan either doesn’t have those features, or they’re options.

This is the same story when it comes to safety features. Both cars offer a few standard smart safety features, but the Audi has more overall. For example, blind spot monitoring and cross-traffic alert are standard smart safety features on the e-tron GT. Both of those smart safety features are the only options on the Taycan.

2. The 2022 Audi e-tron GT has more seating capacity than the Porsche

Another great thing about the e-tron GT is its seats. While both cars can have comfortable seats with luxurious features like a massage or heating option, the e-tron GT can have more seats than the Taycan. The Audi has a seating capacity of five, while the Porsche tops out at just four.

On top of that, Audi customers have an additional feature they can choose from. Like U.S. News, Audi offers quad bucket seats for the e-tron GT as standard, and these can make the car sportier and more extraordinary to be in. Porsche, on the other hand, doesn’t offer a similar option for the Taycan.

While both German luxury EVs can come with leather seats, folks who don’t want leather can choose to get the synthetic leather option that Audi offers for the e-tron GT. According to U.S. News, this is not something Porsche offers on the Taycan.

3. The e-tron GT is more powerful and more efficient

Another area where the e-tron GT is a better car than the Taycan is in terms of power. The Taycan 4S AWD gets two electric motors that generate a combined 429 hp and 472 lb-ft of torque. In comparison, the e-tron GT has two electric motors with a combined 469 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque. This means that, while the Porsche has 8 lb-ft of torque more than the Audi does, the Audi has 40 hp more than the Porsche does.

In addition, the e-tron GT weighs over 5,000 pounds, which is almost 300 pounds more than the Taycan. Despite being heavier and having more powerful electric motors, both EVs have a similar range of about 230 miles. The reason is that the Audi is more efficient, as it gets about 82 MPGe combined. In comparison, the Porsche gets about 79 MPGe combined.
