The 2022 BMW iX is the Women’s World Car of the Year in the large SUV category, and it’s no surprise. To find the award winners, 56 journalists from over 40 countries tested vehicles that were produced between January 1 and December 31, 2021. According to BMW Blog, the judges will pick an overall winner for the Car of the Year award on March 8, 2022, which is International Women’s Day.

There are a total of six categories that the judges, all women, will choose from. Current category winners include the 2022 Peugeot 308 in the Urban Model category, the 2022 Kia Sportage as the Family SUV, the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E in the Large Car category, the iX as the Large SUV, the 2022 Audi e-Tron GT in Performance Car, and the 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe as the winner of the 4×4 category.

Is the iX fully electric?

Yes, the 2022 BMW iX is fully electric. The xDrive 50 has two motors, one for each axle, and together they make 516 hp and 564 lb-ft of torque. It only comes with all-wheel drive. The iX can get up to 300 miles on a single charge, making it competitive with other electric SUVs on the market.

The next level up, the 2022 BMW iX M60, is more powerful than the base model. It gets up to 532 hp and 749 lb-ft of torque. There’s also a Sport Boost mode, which makes the iX faster at a 0 to 60 time of 3.6 seconds compared to the base model’s 4.6 seconds. It’s also equipped with a 12-speaker sound system, six USB ports, and is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, it has simulated leather, which will appeal to those who want to avoid real leather.
