Which 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Model Is Right for You?
- The 2022 Chevrolet Corvette 2LT is the ‘Vette for you
- If you’ve got $90K to spare, wait for the Corvette Z06
- The Corvette’s 1LT base trim just doesn’t offer enough features
While it’s no Porsche 911, the newest Chevrolet sports car still has plenty of trims, body styles, and options to comb through. There’s a total of nine trim and body combinations for the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette, and that’s before you even consider the upcoming Corvette Z06. Rather than writing this article at a reasonable hour, we spent time on the configurator instead. This is what we learned.
What is the most expensive 2022 Corvette?
We’ll start from the top with the Corvette 3LT trim level. The 3LT trim is effectively everything you get with a fully loaded 2022 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevy splits these trims into three levels, with 1LT and 2LT trims slotted in below it. This 3LT trim covers even more of the Corvette’s driver-focused interior with leather. That means the door cards, center console, and instrument panel are all wrapped in dead cow.
Obviously, loading up the new ‘Vette results in a much bigger number. In total, that results in a $72,850 2022 Chevrolet Corvette loaded with all the best features. That also includes the optional $6,345 Z51 Performance package. Obviously, as the name suggests, that’s the one you want if you wanna go fast in your ‘Vette. It adds a unique front splitter and wing, as well as upgrades to the suspension, exhaust, and tires. Oh, and a limited-slip differential.
What’s the best 2022 Chevrolet Corvette trim?
Now, before we get to the best 2022 Corvette trim, let’s get over the one you don’t want. That’ll be the base 2022 Chevrolet Corvette 1LT. Frankly, despite what a great bargain the base ‘Vette is, you’re just not getting as much for your money. A huge number of safety features and driver assists get left out. Besides, if you can swing the $60,000 MSRP, we’re willing to bet you can spring for the $7,300 2LT option pack. And you don’t want to miss what the best Corvette trim adds.
The Corvette 2LT ups your speaker count to 14 Bose speakers, and that nasally robot navigation voice comes through extra nice with those. Speaking of, you also get navigation in the 2LT Corvette. Thankfully, this pack also adds front and rear cameras, in addition to a head-up display. Finally, other niceties are sprinkled on top, like a heated steering wheel and ventilated seats, as well as nose lift.
You should wait for the Corvette Z06
Really, if you’ve got the coin, we recommend waiting for the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. At an estimated $90K, the Z06 gets a flat-plane crank and 670 hp. It’s pretty clear to us Chevy wanted to make an American Ferrari, and early images and videos sure are promising. The Corvette 2LT trim might be the best value, but the Z06 is certainly going to be something special.
