While Forbes says that there isn’t a better vehicle for these needs, they also caution that it’s “big and ungainly, and is sheer vehicular overkill in absence of such special needs.” To validate their review of the Suburban, Forbes points to its Consumer Reports ratings, which are less-than-stellar, to say the least. They also note that the Suburban doesn’t hold its value well; after 5 years it’s worth just 32% of what it was when it was brand new. It also gets only 16 mpg combined.

The new Chevy Suburban doesn’t have a great reliability rating

The 2022 Chevrolet Suburban scores a 1/5 for its predicted reliability, according to Consumer Reports. Obviously that’s not exactly a desirable score. So what causes the reliability rating to be so low on the new Chevy truck? Consumer Reports says that it’s because of the Suburban’s reliability history as well as how well the Chevy Tahoe has fared. The Tahoe and the Suburban share a powertrain.

There are no reliability ratings for the 2020 and 2021 Chevy Suburbans. The 2019 Chevy Suburban gets a great reliability rating of 5/5. Yet in 2018 the reliability rating was just a 3/5, and before that came three years of 1/5. Issues in the 2015-2017 Chevy Suburbans include major and minor engine problems as well as minor and major transmission problems. The suspension is also problematic in all three Chevy Suburban model years, and so is the power equipment.

How much does the 2022 Chevy Suburban cost?

The 2022 Chevy Suburban starts at $52,400. There are six trim levels available in the 2022 Chevrolet Suburban, including the LS, LT, Z71, RST, Premier, and High Country. Each of these trim levels offers different amenities, and the Chevy Suburban price increases accordingly.

The 2022 Chevy Suburban LS starts at $54,095, while the LT begins at $62,495. The Chevy Suburban Z71 jumps up to $64,695, while the RST costs $65,695. The Suburban Premier will set you back at least $70,495, and the high-end Chevy Suburban High Country costs $77,395.

Okay, so the 2022 Chevy Suburban can be difficult to park and maneuver, and it isn’t exactly fuel-efficient.
