Tearing up the roads since the late 1960s, the Dodge Challenger needs no introduction. Although its second generation was a huge disappointment, it redeemed itself with a much-needed redesign in the 2000s

For 2022, the Challenger boasts a variety of impressive engines and 11 trims. At the high end is the SRT Super Stock, starting at $84,080. The Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock also offers several tantalizing options that boost the price. Is the range-topper a must-buy, or can you still get the full Challenger experience with a cheaper model?

How much does a fully loaded 2022 Dodge Challenger cost?

The Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock comes with several extra convenience features, plus the legendary Hellcat engine. The SRT Super Stock produces 807 hp and 707 lb-ft of torque. It comes standard in the Widebody style and rides on 18-inch tires.

If you want another paint color besides black or white, tack on $95 or more. Racing stripes cost an extra $995, while the roof and hood can be clad in black satin for $3,495.

Black brake calipers are nearly $600 extra, and you can get a rear spoiler for $995. On the inside, you can splurge on “demonic” red and black seats with matching seatbelts. Navigation, a sunroof, and an upgraded audio system are also on the list of options.

Adding all of those extras brings the Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock’s price to over $95,000. Eight packages with appearance and technology upgrades are also available, totaling over $102,000.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody packs the same beastly engine, but this model costs only $81,080. Opting for the Jailbreak model, which Dodge prices at $82,170, unlocks exclusive exterior and interior customization options. The regular Hellcat Redeye is relatively more affordable at $74,775.

The Challenger SRT Hellcat and its widebody variant prices range from $63,175 to $69,475. The Hellcat engine inside these models is also still pretty powerful with 717 hp. The R/T Scat Pack and its widebody version have smaller V8s and cost between $43,100 and $49,395.

The regular 2022 Dodge Challenger R/T retails for $37,625. Both the GT and the SXT come with the same 303-hp V6, but the GT has more sporty standard features. It costs a minimum of $33,050, while the SXT is the cheapest Challenger at $30,075.

Is the 2022 Dodge Challenger price worth the spend?

If you’re trying to be a bit frugal, you can easily skip most of the SRT Super Stock’s appearance options. Though the Hellcat engine’s performance is a joy to experience at least once, it isn’t practical for daily drivers. There’s also much to be said about the safety of allowing inexperienced drivers to purchase cars with that much power.

If you can’t sleep without dreaming about a Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock, you might want to wait. Stellantis announced it will retire the current generation of the Charger and Challenger by 2023. Discontinued models tend to depreciate quickly, so you might be able to get a sweet deal.

Which 2022 model should you buy?

Because most drivers won’t notice the 10-hp loss, you can save a few thousand bucks with the Hellcat Redeye over the SRT Super Stock. No matter which engine you choose, all models have the same exhilarating handling.

In terms of value, the Dodge Challenger R/T is an ideal pick. It has all the same sporty upgrades as the GT but packs a 372-hp V8 instead of the standard V6. True, it’s not as fast as the Hellcat Hemi, but it’s vastly more affordable.
