The 2022 Ford F-150 Darkens With the Lariat Black Appearance Package
If you feel like the 2022 Ford F-150 doesn’t look bad enough, there’s a way to fix that. Your new Ford F-150 can enter the dark side with the XLT Black appearance Package, STX Black Appearance Package, or the new Lariat Black Appearance Package.
The 2022 Ford F-150 gains the Lariat Black Appearance Package
Get ready to make your 2022 Ford F-150 look bad to the bone with black-on-black features from the Lariat Black Appearance package. We don’t have an official image for this package on the F-150 yet, but you can see it above on the Super Duty.
The F-150 Lariat Black Appearance Package is an option on Lariat High-trimmed trucks. It’s also only available with the Lariat Sport Appearance package in the SuperCrew configuration with the 145-inch wheelbase.
It’s not available with the Ford Continuously Controlled Damping feature or the 3.5-liter V6 engine with two-wheel drive. But it does come with this engine if you opt for four-wheel drive. Geez, that’s a lot of red tape.
What comes with the F-150 Lariat Black Appearance Package?
The 2022 Ford F-150 Lariat Black Package adds 20-inch gloss black-painted aluminum wheels, six-inch angular step bars, black headlamp bezels, dark-tinted tail lamps, a matte black F-150 tailgate decal, and an exclusive hood with a black grill and accents.
You can add power-deploying running boards with black accents. If you have the FX4 Off-Road Package, you black bodyside decals. If you have 4×4 and the 3.6-liter engine, you also get a dual exhaust with black tips.
The interior gains black interior appliques with black finishes on the console, door trim, and instrument panel.
What do the other 2022 F-150 Black Appearance Packages include?
You can get the XLT Black Appearance Package on the XLT SuperCab and SuperCrew trucks. It pretty much includes similar exterior features. But it adds leather-trimmed bucker seats with a flow-through console and a floor shifter.
The 2022 Ford F-150 STX Appearance Package is a little different. It’s only available on the XL SuperCab or SuperCrew trucks. It adds body-color front and rear bumpers, privacy glass, an electronic rear window defroster, and a molded-in color black homey-comb-styled front grilled with a body-color surround.
You’ll notice that the interior gains manual lumbar support for the driver and front passenger, seatback pockets, an 8-inch touchscreen with SYNC 4, and two USB charging ports. You also get unique sport cloth 40/20/40 seats with a steering column-mounted shifter. You can also opt for unique black sport cloth 40/console/40 seats with a flow-through console.
Other changes to the 2022 Ford F-150 lineup include the addition of the Atlas Blue color. Guard, Kodiak Brown, and the Lead Foot color options were removed. Aside from those changes, the 2022 F-150 is mostly a carry-over model.
However, we look forward to seeing the new F-150 Raptor R and the Ford Lightning hit the streets. The Raptor R supposedly will give the Ram 1500 TRX a run for its money. Also, the F-150 Lightning will be the second electric truck to enter production, following the Rivian R1T.
