The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E  is one of the most popular electric SUVs, and now it’s also the Women’s World Car of the Year Large Car. That puts it in the running for another title; the Women’s World Car of the Year. What makes the Mustang Mach-E a contender for this top honor?

The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E is the Large Car of the Year

The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E takes the title of the Women’s World Car of the Year Large Car. To find the award winners, 56 journalists from over 40 countries tested vehicles that were produced between January 1 and December 31, 2021. Then the judges will pick an overall winner for the Car of the Year award on March 8, 2022, which is International Women’s Day.

There are six categories that the judges, all women, will choose from. Current category winners include the 2022 Peugeot 308 in the Urban Model category, the 2022 Kia Sportage as the Family SUV, the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E in the Large Car category, the 2022 BMW iX as the Large SUV, the 2022 Audi e-Tron GT in Performance Car, and the 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe as the winner of the 4×4 category.

The Mustang Mach-E is incredibly nice

The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-e has a nice exterior that resembles the sportiness of the regular Mustang yet with a sleeker crossover design. Yet its the Mach-e’s interior that really shines. The Ford Mustang Mach-e interior is roomy with plenty of headroom. It can seat up to five with its synthetic leather seating. The Mustang Mach-e has a 15.5-inch touchscreen and a 10.2-inch digital cluster. It boasts a panoramic sunroof and features like hands-free driving.

How much does the Mach-E cost

The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-e price starts at $46,695 for the base model, the Select yet it can go up to $61,095 for the GT. The base model Mustang Mach-E Select offers 18-inch wheels, keyless entry and start, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. 

It also has a 120-volt or 240-volt charging cable and is DC fast-charging capable. This can support up to 150-kW charging stations. The rear-wheel Select can get up to 230 miles of range with an engine that makes 266 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. However, all-wheel drive sacrifices some range, getting 211 miles. It does gain torque, at 428 lb-ft. If you want even more range you can get the California Route 1 which offers up to 305 miles of range, 290 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. 

There’s a reason that Women’s World Car of the Year chose the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E as the Large Car of the Year. It’s fast, economical, and very impressive, especially for an electric vehicle. It has a sporty and upscale look and a comfortable and refined interior. The Mach-E offers updated technology and the ability to customize it in numerous ways.
