2022 Genesis G90 Packs Insane Features for $80k Less Than Competitors
When it comes to shopping for a luxury car, it’s typically accepted that there’s a lot of money on the table. However, Genesis is making serious luxury features and driving experiences available to a much broader audience than the typical contenders. This Korean luxury powerhouse has put out some remarkable vehicles that easily go toe-to-toe with the likes of BMW, Mercedes, and Audi. Best of all, Genesis does it for a fraction of the price.
Genesis G90’s standard equipment exceeds industry standards
One of the most costly parts of purchasing a luxury car is the remarkable amount of costly options aside from the car itself. However, according to Hot Cars, Genesis has a goal of offering more for less. So, one of the most advantageous features of the Genesis G90 is the standard features it comes with.
For one, the Genesis G90 comes standard with a driver assist system. It’s far more advanced than a simple lane departure warning, too. It has full lane-keeping assistance, highway driving assistance, blind-spot monitoring, and even has adaptive cruise control that adjusts the vehicle’s speed based on the car it’s following. These features are available on most luxury sedans. However, for the most part, manufacturers offer them only as an option. The Genesis G90 includes them as standard.
Inside, the luxurious standard features continue to set the G90 apart from the standard equipment found in its competition.
The G90 comes with a 17-speaker entertainment system that includes both Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Additionally, it has a wireless charging pad built into the center console.
Additionally, the G90 comes with 22-way adjustable seats that feature Genesis’ Smart Posture Care system. This means that the seat automatically adjusts to your physique to ensure proper posture and comfort while driving.
Finally, to ensure a luxurious experience, the G90 has plenty of sound deadening. It features triple-sealed doors and dual-pane acoustic glass to ensure road noise stays out and your music or podcast choice is appropriately distributed throughout the cabin.
Of course, all of this comes on top of remarkable interior materials like quilted Nappa leather that’ll make you want to stay inside the car forever.
It’s certainly not down on power, either
The 2022 G90 offers two different powerplant options. One is the 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that puts out a substantial 365 horsepower. Additionally, a 5.0-liter V8 engine option is available that bumps the power output up to 420 horsepower.
Though the V8 offers a bit more punch, tuners have managed to squeeze 450 horsepower out of the 3.3-liter V6 engine with just an ECU flash. So, those who aren’t afraid of a bit of modification can get a bit more zest out of the V6 offering. Though, speed isn’t really the point of this car. For most, the V6 is more than enough.
Of course, all of this comes backed by the entirely unmatched Genesis 10-year/100,000-mile warranty.
The 2022 Genesis G90 has a varying price depending on the drivetrain choice. Both the V6 and V8 options are available in either rear or all-wheel drive format. The lowest-priced is the RWD V6, with an MSRP of $74,950. The highest is the AWD V8, with an MSRP of $81,200.
For comparison’s sake, the BMW M760i xDrive has a starting MSRP of $157,800. That price doesn’t get you the driving assist option, adding another $1,700. Even the cheapest 2022 BMW 7-series offering, the 740i, comes in at over $90,000 with the added driving assist package.
Ultimately, the Genesis G90 is unmatched in its value for money when it comes to the luxury car market. Sure, $80,000 is definitely not what one could consider an affordable car. However, it is certainly much more affordable than its competitors. Overall, the Genesis G90 will leave owners with nothing to complain about!
