The 2022 Genesis GV70 Is Taking a Bold and Colorful Stand Against Boring Cars
Let’s face it; cars have gotten extremely boring. I don’t want y’all to hear it from me, but I don’t want y’all to hear it from anyone else either, but it is true. Multiple studies show that white, silver, and grey are by far the most popular car colors. This is unacceptable, and thankfully Hyundai agrees. The 2022 Genesis GV70 will not play into this boring trend any longer.

Hyundai’s luxury brand, Genesis, allows us to break the boring cycle of plain car colors (or lack of color) by offering a wide variety of truly bold color options.
As Autoblog points out, the BMW X3 and Audi Q5 are a perfect example of this plague of boring colors as these two models only come in one color; blue. The other “options” are a newspaper-ish array of grey, white, and black. What is this 1924? Come on, y’all… Thankfully, the GV70 is coming to set us free from our puritanical approach to car design and color.
Exterior and interior both have wild color options
It feels like the last time a car had this many color options was the late ‘60s muscle car era. Unfortunately, there are still the forgettable whites and greys and whatnot, but more notable are the various actual color options. The 2022 GV70 will be offered in Mauna Red, Adriatic Blue, Cardiff Green metallic, and, the most muscle car-esq color of all, Barossa Burgundy metallic. Yes, Genesis is offering not one but two different shades of purple.
Not only does it come in all these fun colors, but the boring colors get more interesting matte options.
The GV70 interior is the best part
The paint colors are great, but the coolest part is the equally varied interior colors. This amount of interior color options typically is only seen in super-high-end makers like Rolls-Royce, Bently, and the like.
The interior color options are too cool. Genesis is offering interiors in Ultramarine Blue, Slate Gray Velvet Burgundy (yes, a purple interior), Ocean Waves Pine Grove (green), Black Sevilla Red, Ocean Waves Havana Brown, Black Beige, and Black. Y’all, green and purple interiors. I really want that to sink in. This is good news.
Unfortunately, according to Autoblog, Genesis will not let you mix and match any exterior to any interior. Someone within the design department has decided they should keep a GV70 with a green exterior and a purple interior from existing. But, for now, the only appropriate feeling toward the fine folks at Genesis is gratitude for giving us some interesting color options at all.
The last step to show our gratitude for these refreshingly interesting SUVs is we gotta buy them. Car companies are only going to make what we show them we will actually buy. Whatever you do, dear reader, please don’t buy a white or black Genesis GV70. Act like somebody and get something green or purple with the matching interior. The future of cool cars depends on it.
