According to Car and Driver, the new 2022 GMC Hummer EV is a beast when it comes to EV pickup options. It has up to 1000 hp from its top powertrain option, which uses three electric motors. Even more impressive, the Hummer EV can go 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds. 

The Hummer EV offers an estimated 329 miles per charge of driving range. This is quite impressive for an EV pickup. According to Car and Driver, the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning gets just 230 miles per charge on the standard battery and 300 miles on trucks with the extended-range pack. Car and Driver also report that the 2022 Rivian R1T gets an estimated 314 miles per charge. So, it looks like the GMC Hummer EV is currently leading the way in the battle of EV trucks, at least in terms of drive range.  

A wrecked 2022 GMC Hummer EV shows up at an online salvage auction 

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV has an MSRP of $110,295. As The Drive reports, a wrecked 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 was recently listed on the online salvage auction site Copart. The wrecked Hummer came out of Tampa, Florida, and had only racked up a mere 2,112 miles on its odometer before the auction. 

On Copart, the EV truck was listed as “rebuildable salvage.” However, the auction company does not disclose what type of accident led to the wreck or what specific condition the Hummer was in. The only specific comments are that the vehicle’s primary damage is on the side and its secondary damage is to the undercarriage. 

The reserve bid on this Hummer EV was $72,000. Copart shows that it was sold on October 25, 2022, for $96,000. While this is over $10,000 less than the starting price of a 2022 Hummer EV, this truck will definitely require some bodywork. Hopefully, the bidder received a great deal despite this fact.

The auction ended on October 31, 2022. The sale price is not currently listed, but it undoubtedly went for a discounted price. So, if you’re ever in the market for a discounted high-end vehicle that might need a little work, Copart might be the place to find a deal.
