The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Just Raised the Bar
It’s official. Luxury trucks have new competition against the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. The upgrades don’t just include an enhanced Denali trim. There’s also the new GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate model.
The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali gains incredible upgrades
Critics are saying that the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali trim is living up to its luxury title for the first time. Based on this feedback, the updates must be incredible. Then the new Denali Ultimate trim takes the luxury upgrades to a brand new level.
A few of the Denali highlights include a premium Jet Black and Denali-exclusive Dark Walnut and Dark Ash Grey interiors. Forged perforated leather seating surfaces provide an upscale feeling.
Plus, the dash and other surfaces include open-pore real ash wood trim. Enjoy a Bose premium sound system with a Richbass subwoofer and wireless phone projection with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
What comes with the Denali Ultimate trim?
With the new 2022 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate, you get a dark Vader chrome exterior trim and 22-inch rims buoyed by adaptive dampers. The interior features leather-wrapped everything with open-pore wood and a microsuede headliner.
The front leather seaters include 16-way power adjustments and massage functions. The Bose audio system incorporates 12 speakers, including speakers in the door panels with stainless-steel grilles.
The Denali Ultimate comes with standard Super Cruise, General Motor’s hands-free driving system. It’s an optional feature for the regular Denali. It works while hauling a trailer and can automatically change lanes.
Check out the 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment system and the 12.3-inch diagonal information center. The features can be reconfigured to display a range of different information. Also, a 15-inch head-up display is available.
There are still plenty of engine options. The 2.7-liter inline-four engine kicks things off with 310 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. The 5.2-liter engine provides 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. With the 6.2-liter V8 engine, you get 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Also, the 3.0-liter Duramax V6 diesel engine pumps out 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.
Thanks to chassis alterations and suspension upgrades, the Duramax diesel engine can be paired with the Max Trailering package. Now dies-el-powered Sierra models can tow up to 13,200 lbs instead of only 9,200 lbs.
What about the Sierra AT4X?
While we’re excited about the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali, we can’t ignore the new GMC Sierra 1500 ATX4 trim. It’s pretty similar to the Chevy Silverado ZR2. Only it has a more confident look.
It includes advanced Multimatac spool-valve dampers, electronic-locking front, and rear differentials, and extra underbody protection. Black 18-inch wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac Mud-Terrain tires complete its look.
With the AT4X Terrain Mode, you can use the one-pedal driving system in low-speed situations for better control. Also, a set of rocker guards are available to protect the door sills from getting damaged.
You can get the new Sierra early next year. Pricing ranges from $32,000 to $80,000, depending on which model you choose.
