The 2022 GMC Yukon AT4 is now available with more power for off-roading. You can have it equipped with the 6.2-liter V8 engine that provides 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. This is quite the upgrade over the standard 5.3-liter V8 engine with 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque.

It will cost about $2,195 to upgrade from the 5.3-liter engine to the 6.2-liter option. On an interesting note, you can’t equip the 3.0-liter V6 Duramax turbodiesel engine with 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque with the AT4 trim. The rig’s front fascia would obstruct the engine’s intercooler. However, it’s still thirsty.

The diesel engine gets an EPA estimated 21 mpg in the city and up to 27 mpg on the highway. The gasoline engines get an EPA-estimated 16 mpg in the city and up to 20 mpg on the highway.

What comes with the Yukon AT4?

Aside from extra power, the 2022 GMC Yukon AT4 is expected to be a carryover model. It was recently revised in 2021 to become more prominent, offer enhanced luxury, and provide more off-roading capability.

The Yukon AT4 rides on a two-inch lift and a raised heavy-duty suspension with an independent rear suspension. This provides a smooth ride, sportier handling, and a quieter cabin. You also get magnetic ride control and can opt for an optional air ride suspension.

You’ll find an electronic locking differential in the rear along with skid plates, red tow hooks, and larger all-terrain tires. Take advantage of the Automatic mode with the four-wheel-drive system. As soon as the vehicle detects slippage or the need for more traction, the front wheels are automatically engaged.

The Yukon primarily functions as a rear-wheel-drive vehicle, but you can leave it in Automatic mode all the time. It also includes a full dual-range 4×4, and that’s available at the push of a button.

What is the Yukon AT4’s interior like?

The 2022 GMC Yukon AT4 offers plenty of luxury refinement. It just doesn’t take things to the Denali level. You still get leather seats, a heated steering wheel, and the front seats are heated and ventilated.

Modern tech features include a full-color head-up display, a 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen with built-in navigation, and a dual rear-seat entertainment system with 12.6-inch screens for the kids. Plus, you get a dual-pane sunroof and power retracting running boards.

The GMC Yukon AT4 includes the GMC ProGrande trailing system too. It comes with trailer-side blind-spot monitoring, hitch guidance, a trailer brake controller, in-trailer cameras, and a camera is mounted on the rear of the trailer for obstructed vision. It can tow up to 8,400 lbs.

The 2021 Yukon AT4 starts about $65,100. Pricing for the 2022 model lineup hasn’t been released, but it’s not expected to increase. It could go up by a few hundred bucks. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
