Unfortunately, winter is nearly upon us. That means snow, salt, rust, and short, dark days. Some may enjoy winter, but for the car enthusiast, it’s usually the end of the fun for a few months. Now, it’s time to get in one last hurrah, courtesy of Honda. The brand has modified a 2022 Honda Civic hatchback for fall road trip usability just in time for SEMA.

Thanks to a roof box and a few smaller tweaks, the already comfortable Civic gets more fall road trip friendly.

This Civic hatch will eat miles for breakfast

The 2022 Honda Civic hatchback is already a very comfortable car. Seat and interior ergonomics are fantastic, and higher trim levels (which this one is) get adjustable lumbar and ventilation. Then there’s the ride. While the Civic is more economy car than Maybach in terms of ride, it’s certainly more than comfortable enough for long highway stints. Of course, there’s also Apple Carplay and Android Auto to handle navigation duties.

In short, the “base” 2022 Honda Civic hatchback is already perfect for a fall road trip. Of course, as any good tuner knows, there’s always a little something that can be changed. The special Team Liquid livery is one example, but more on that in a minute. With the idea of dry roads and easy driving disappearing into the pre-winter sunset for much of the country, it’s interesting to see what Honda’s last road trip hurrah is made of.

The Civic is an excellent fall road trip machine

Apparently, much of it is stock Honda Civic. Honda was kind enough to provide a full list of changes made, and honestly, it’s a little shorter than we’d have liked. First, there’s that Team Liquid livery. The online gaming community is responsible for sponsoring this build, so it makes sense their name is on the thing. Thule also contributed the second most obvious change to the 2022 Honda Civic hatchback: the roof rack.

The bars that hold that rack are provided by Honda, as well as a few blacked-out badges. Notably, there’s also a special Honda Performance Development (HPD) front splitter. Out back is yet another HPD part, the spoiler. If the wheels look familiar, that’s because they’re an option on the 2022 Honda Civic hatch, albeit with black valve covers and black wheel lugs. Really, Thule is to thank for making this 2022 Honda Civic hatchback fall road trip ready with that roof box.

How much is a 2022 Honda Civic hatchback?

Of course, you can certainly toss that Thule Motion XT Alpine roof box on your 2022 Civic. Honda hasn’t confirmed whether the HPD spoilers will be available for order, but we’re willing to bet it’s only a matter of time. Unfortunately, (or fortunately depending on your style preference), the Team Liquid livery is just for SEMA. But don’t let that stop you and your roof box from taking one last fall road trip before winter sets in.
