When will the Passport TrailSport be released?
When it was first introduced, Honda announced the Passport TrailSport would be released sometime during winter 2021/2022. While the automaker didn’t give a specific date beyond this period, the 2022 Honda Passport TrailSport is now available at Honda dealerships.
How much does the Passport TrailSport cost?
While the base Honda Passport model starts at $38,370, the Honda Passport TrailSport starts at $42,970.
What features does the Passport TrailSport have?
The Passport TrailSport has a design that signals that it’s ready for off-road adventures. It features a unique grille and aggressive bumpers with painted silver skid garnish designs. The Passport TrailSport rolls on distinctive machined 18-inch wheels with Pewter highlights. Also, the off-road SUV has orange TrailSport badges on the grille and tailgate, as well as gloss black Passport and AWD badges.
The exclusive styling continues into the cabin of the Passport TrailSport. It has orange contrast stitching on the steering wheel, seats, and door panels, a black chrome surround for the gauge cluster, and an embroidered TrailSport logo on the front seat headrests and all-season floor mats. Also, the Passport Trailsport features amber ambient lighting throughout the cabin, including the overhead console, cupholders, door tray, door handle pocket, and footwells.
For confident traction on rough and uneven terrain, the Passport TrailSport comes equipped with a torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system. To further enhance traction and for a rugged look, the Passport TrailSport has 245/60R18 tires with a sidewall tread. Also, relative to the other Passport models, the TrailSport model has a wider track width, which helps to improve stability. Additionally, for driving in cold weather, the Passport TrailSport features a parking area on the windshield that heats the wiper blades.
Future plans for the Honda TrailSport models
The 2022 Passport is the first Honda model to offer a TrailSport trim. Other Honda models likely to follow suit are the Ridgeline midsize pickup truck and the Pilot three-row SUV. Also, in the future, Honda will increase the off-road capabilities of the TrailSport models. Possible upgrades include an off-road-tuned suspension and more aggressive tires.
Off-road capable vehicles are very popular with American consumers these days, and Honda is clearly capitalizing on this demand with the Passport TrailSport and other upcoming TrailSport models.
