The 2022 Honda Ridgeline Price Keeps Going up
Wow, prices for the 2022 Honda Ridgeline keep climbing. The Honda Ridgeline is already a more expensive midsize truck option to consider. Is the new Ridgeline worth the extra cash? Let’s dive in and see what comes standard.
Is the 2022 Honda Ridgeline worth buying?
Yes, the 2022 Honda Ridgeline is an excellent truck to consider. Despite having a higher starting price than rivals, it includes tons of standard equipment. The Ridgeline is a value-packed option that’s starting to go after rivals.
You can get started in a new Honda Ridgeline for about $36,890. Also, there is a $1,225 destination charge. The price has increased by about $400 per trim level. For comparison’s sake, the Jeep Gladiator has an MSRP of $34,645, and the Ford Ranger starts at about $24,820.
What comes standard with the 2022 Ridgeline?
The 2022 Honda Ridgeline has a standard 3.5-liter V6 engine with 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. This s a stout amount of power. The Ridgeline can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.2 seconds.
Also, the Ridgeline comes with standard all-wheel drive. This might not make it as capable as a truck with four-wheel drive, but it’s a nice perk. But despite all this power, the Ridgeline is a little weak compared to rivals.
When properly equipped the Ridgeline can only tow up to 5,000 lbs. The Ford Ranger can tow up to 7,500 lbs, and the Jeep Gladiator can tow up to 7,650 lbs. However, the Ridgeline can carry a payload of up to 1,583 lbs.
Also, the Honda Ridgeline comes with a lockable in-bed trunk and a two-way tailgate that opens down or swings out sideways. The bed can hold four-foot-wide sheets without resting on top of the wheel wells.
Each Honda Ridgeline model comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. This is on par with rivals. The system received complaints about being a touchscreen only, but physical knobs have been added.
Standard safety features include forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and adaptive cruise control.
What’s new for the 2022 Ridgeline?
The 2022 Honda Ridgeline is primarily a carryover model. It received a new shade of Sonic Gray Pearl paint. That’s about it for now. People have been expecting the Honda Ridgeline Hybrid to debut, so we will keep an eye out for that.
Also, where is the Honda Ridgeline TrailSport? While the Honda Passport TrailSport is sort of a letdown, the Ridgeline TrailSport is expected to have more off-roading upgrades. So, we hope the new off-roading trim arrives soon.
There have been rumors about the Ridgeline Type R as well. This would be a racing variant of the truck. A racing model makes sense as the unibody design of the Ridgeline provides a smoother ride and more responsive handling.
We aren’t sure if these new trims and updates will arrive later in the year or if we have to wait until 2023. But we will keep watching for more updates. Until then, the Ridgeline is sticking to what works.
