The Hyundai Tucson is one of the larger SUVs in Hyundai’s lineup (though of course it’s no match for the Palisade). Still, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson is sure to be a popular SUV, and Hyundai has updated it accordingly. So what will the 2022 Hyundai Tucson bring to the table, and is it worth buying? How much does a 2022 Hyundai Tucson cost?

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson should be a relatively affordable new SUV, at $26,135 for its base vehicle. If you want to go for the hybrid 2022 Tucson, it will cost you a few thousand more dollars, for a total cost of $30,235. While the standard Tucson’s price is higher than previous models, Car and Driver notes that you’ll be betting more for you money, so it may be worth it to you.

The 2022 Tucson will come with a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that can put out 187-hp. If you want all-wheel drive, you’ll have to shell out an additional $1,400. No standard SUV trim levels include all-wheel drive.

However, the hybrid 2022 Tucson will come with all-wheel drive, which may be a huge selling point. That hybrid engine will have a 1.6-liter engine and be capable of 226-hp. It will be able to go 28 miles all-electric when it’s fully charged.

Where is the 2022 Hyundai Tucson made?

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson is being made in Alabama. Car and Driver says that this means people who order the 2022 Tucson should be able to get it quickly, which in the current automotive market is a good thing.

Although Hyundai is a Korean company, it makes a good number of its cars here. Locations where Hyundai designs, tests, and builds cars in addition to Alabama include Michigan and California.

What is the difference between the 2021 and 2022 Hyundai Tucson?

There are some key differences between the 2021 and 2022 Hyundai Tucson. For starters, the engine in the 2021 was a 2.0-liter, while the 2022 is a 2.5-liter. The horsepower is up as well, from 161-hp to 187-hp. Even with all this extra power, gas mileage is increased from 23/28 mpg to 26/33 mpg.

There’s more cargo space and leg room in the 2022 Tucson than there was in the 2021 Tucson. In the 2021, there was 61.9 cubic feet of cargo space. The 2022 Tucson has 80.3. The leg room is up to 41.3 inches in the 2022 from 38.2 in the 2021.

If you’re wondering if the 2022 Tucson is worth buying, it certainly seems to be. It’s got a lot going for it, and if you can order it and actually receive it by the end of 2021, you’d be in great shape. With its increased fuel economy and size, and the availability of a hybrid option, the 2022 Tucson should be a sound SUV.
