The 2022 Infiniti QX80 is a full-size luxury SUV that certainly has a lot of exquisite features. It’s a full-size SUV that’s rugged enough to haul your large family to a campsite while still stylish enough to feel opulent. Is it expensive? Sure, but for a luxury SUV, it’s actually fairly reasonably priced. Here’s how much the 2022 QX80 costs and what you’ll get with that hefty price tag.

How much is the 2022 Infiniti QX80?

The 2022 Infiniti X80 price starts at 71,995, according to Car and Driver. While that may pale in comparison to other luxury SUVs, Car and Driver says it’s still too high. It says, “apart from the Infiniti badges, it’s fundamentally a gussied-up Nissan Armada, which also happens to cost significantly less.” In fact, it ranks the QX80 14 in the large luxury SUV class.

In addition to the base model Luxe, there is also a Premium Select trim level available. That costs $76,780, and there’s a Sensory for $83,630. For that money you’ll get most of the things you’d expect in a luxury SUV – leather seats with heat and a heated steering wheel that is power adjustable. It also has second row captain’s chairs, a navigation system, and a premium sound system.

Is the Infiniti QX80 reliable?

Unfortunately, the 2022 Infiniti QX80‘s reliability is not so great, which is a shame since its price is so high. The Infiniti QX80 has a predicted reliability rating of just 2/5 from Consumer Reports. This prediction is based on the QX80’s brand history as well as similar SUVs in the large luxury SUV class. While Consumer Reports doesn’t offer a whole lot of detailed data about the QX80’s reliability data, it does offer that the QX80’s predicted reliability score of 37/100 puts it in third place. That tells us that there may not be a whole lot of super reliable SUVs in the luxury large SUV class.

Is the QX80 worth it?

If you ask Car and Driver what it thinks of the 2022 Infiniti QX80, its answer would probably be that this luxury large SUV is one best skipping. Of course, if you really like what it has to offer but don’t wnat to spend quite so much money on it, there’s always the 2022 Nissan Armada. In fact, it says, “The similarly nice Armada costs far less, a paragon fuel-inefficiency, styling inside and out is dated.”

It’s hard to justify the 2022 QX80 when there are so many similarly sized and priced luxury SUVs on the market. Considering that many of these other SUVs offer even nicer exteriors and well-appointed interiors, there aren’t very many reasons to buy the QX80. It’s not as though there’s nothing positive about it. Car and Driver writes “For those still interested in the largest Infiniti, its fully independent suspension delivers a tranquil ride and its 400-hp V-8, albeit fuel-thirsty­, sounds good and provides ample thrust.”
