With the turbo engine, the Cherokee can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.6 seconds. According to Edmunds, the base engine is a little weak. The steering has a nice weight, and the Cherokee feels confident around curves. Plus, the brakes are smooth and predictable. 

The Cherokee provides a smooth ride over most surfaces and doesn’t have any complaints about a loud interior. It’s very well balanced for a sporty SUV with good manners on the pavement. 

When properly equipped, the Cherokee can tow up to 4,500 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,790 lbs. For comparison’s sake, the Wrangler can tow up to 3,500 lbs. 

The Cherokee Trailhawk is the best option for off-roading. It comes with all-terrain tires, fog lights, automatic rear braking, Jeep Active Drive Lock with rock mode, and a locking rear axle. 

Does the 2022 Cherokee have nice features? 

Yes, the 2022 Jeep Cherokee has a well-crafted interior with high-quality materials. The seats are supportive and spacious. Passengers will appreciate how much space they have in the back. 

While the Cherokee only has an 8.4-inch touchscreen, it’s powered by the fast and efficient Uconnect software. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. Moving up in trim levels provides access to a power liftgate, auto-dimming rearview mirror, ventilated seats, and more. 

Standard safety features include forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. 

The 2022 Cherokee may look a little dated, but it still can go off-roading, provides a comfortable ride, and has an excellent infotainment system. It’s a well-rounded option with plenty of value.
