We have a massive soft spot for the 2022 Lexus LC 500. In fact, we like it so much that the 2021 model received the inaugural “MotorBiscuit Best Driving Experience of the Year” award back in December. It’s safe to say that the LC 500 is a blast to drive and surprisingly comfortable, but the latest Inspiration version aims to raise the bar on this grand touring exotic car.

The 2022 Lexus LC 500 Inspiration inspires breathtaking exterior beauty

Lexus has released an Inspiration Series special edition ever since the LC 500 made its initial debut. And while we can always hope that a special version of this car means more performance from under the hood, it doesn’t. Truthfully, the car doesn’t really need any more power anyway.

Instead, the Inspiration Series is meant to enhance the car’s beauty inside and out via a unique color combination. For the 2022 model year, we get a sparkly Iridium paint job on both the coupe and convertible that works well with its gloss-black front grille, LED light housing, and rocker panels. There are also 21-inch, 10-spoke two-tone alloy wheels at every corner and a black lip spoiler to finish off the look. The convertible models also receive a special Dark Rose soft that looks better than it sounds.

The LC 500 Inspiration is quite the looker on the inside as well

The updated opulence spreads to the inside of the car too. CNET reports that the new LC 500 Inspiration Series pairs the basic black leather with Dark Rose interior accents. You can find the semi-crimson color on the dashboard, center console, door panels, and even the seatbelts. The contrast stitching is Dark Rose-colored as well – a minor detail that we would come to expect from the Japanese luxury brand. Lastly, there are special side sill plates and a numbered plaque in each car to denote its place in the limited production run.

How limited is the production run?

Very limited. Actually, Lexus is only planning to produce 150 copies of the 2022 LC 500 Inspiration Series. So any well-heeled buyers should pony up their hard-earned cash now to claim theirs when it drops in the late Spring of this year. As far as pricing, you can expect the coupe version to carry an MSRP of $104,500 and the convertible to cost $115,580.

That’s a steep price, but a fair one to pay considering the craftsmanship and engineering that goes into building one of these cars. In addition to the aforementioned enhancements, the LC 500 Inspiration will also come well-equipped with features like a head-up display, a 13-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, Lexus suite of driver-assist features.

There’s no doubt that this version of the 2022 Lexus LC 500 is the crème de la crème of this model to date, not to mention the grand touring luxury cars in general. Heck, we wouldn’t be surprised if it wins one of our MotorBiscuit awards again this year. It sure checks all of the boxes for being a true driver’s car and now it has all of the looks to match.
